It may seem minor, but in the original 99% of deaths had the “whoa!” sound, whereas in the remake trilogy it’s used less often. That sound is just as synonymous with the series as Crash himself
Think it's because realistically Crash wouldn't always have enough time to say "whoa!" Before being blown to $hitereans

The only thing that bugs me in the new one is that some of the most recognizable sound effects were either gone or made worse. Examples include the dudes lifting rocks on the Orient Express / Midnight Run levels, or the triceratops' roar when it's chasing you like there is literally no sound in the remaster.
N Sane definitely lost quite a bit of the cartoony stretchiness. 4 definitely brought some of that back

@@lowhp_comic The one where he gets sliced in half by the sword in the third game is more gruesome in N Sane. It came as such a jump scare because I was expecting the legs to walk off in cartoony fashion like in the original but instead his top half just plops on the ground.
This game definitely didn’t lose none of its stretchy bouncy animations what is you even saying if anything they added them
I disagree. The animations are way too stretchy in the remake, and it often takes away the subtle element of the original that made the game's world and its characters more grounded. Uka Uka is one of the most egregious examples, as he's way too bouncy and animated compared to his still, imposing and diabolical ps1 counterpart.

Wow it's crazy how many views this video has. I think it just goes to show how beloved and important these games were to so many of us growing up.

In case you're wondering why some of them are "less aggressive", the explanation is Japanese censorship. They had to make two versions of the original game because of censorship, and to avoid this, they made these "less aggressive" animations (Crash turning into an angel instead of "dying", eyes removed from explosions, gets drowned way faster, etc.)

Eyes are still there, they are just spread out more when they land, look closely at wider shots, also I think drowning is quicker, like a lot of other deaths, is so player does not have to wait long time to start playing again.
