Thanks so much for making these videos! What would be a good way to tighten up a loose ring on the clarinet bell?

There is a tool to do this that shrinks the bell ring to fit tighter. I have one of these tools, but it is expensive and not practical for most people. There are a couple other ways of doing it, but they usually do not work very well.

Hi. I have a question about Socket ring repair. I noticed that the Upper Socket Ring of the lower joint of the Buffet Festival clarinet, which I bought secondhand, was poured with instant glue. I heard that glue is a repair that is generally not used well, but I was wondering if it could cause problems with long-term use, and if it would be necessary to repair it to remove the glue and restore the ring. Other than that, there are no problems such as cracks, but I'm worried that the glue will cause problems. There is also a gap between Ring and Wood.

Hi, Thank you for all the great videos, have been watching almost all of them. I wanted to ask when buying brasswind waterkey corks in bulk from the wholesaler, do you usually buy them straight or tapered, what sizes are the most commonly used and which company do you buy them from.

Does this method work for the piccolo flute? for your metal rings and gasket? Thanks

I have a slight dent in the tuning slide of my trombone, I’d rather not send it to my local repair shop because it’s rather expensive for such a minor dent, any suggestions?

It all depends on where the dent is on the slide. It probably is best to take it to the repair shop because dent removal tools are fairly expensive to buy and the chance of damaging it more is fairly high unless you have the proper tools and some dent removal experience. If you wish to try it yourself, let me know where the dent is on the slide and I will try to help you.

what do you do if u put it on the wrong way?

Try to remove it with a screwdriver and put it on the other way. Be very careful when you do this because it is easy to mar the wood or plastic.
