    Despite your comments on all it's flaws, and nothing about it's dynamics and versatility, I would still buy it. Because after test driving it personally, I find it a fun to drive, it does everything a SUV should do and I didn't expect it to do what a 4 by 4 can do. The asking price is reasonable and the tech and space inside the cabin soots the family.
    Why would anyone buy a small SUV to expect it to do a 4 by 4 job?

    This is the only crossover I would buy.

    After test driving a top spec Kuga and 3008 buying a Tiguan was a no brainer. It is so much more refined than those and in Bitdi one of the most powerful. It is very easy to drive but from driving thru some quite challanging country roads here in the UK it puts it power down very well. Though on factory standard Scorpion Verde tyres it coped well in the snow too. I often cover 600 miles (960km) daily and find the comfort impeccible.

    The hard plastics are deliberate; these cars are designed for families who like to get out into the great outdoors and so they need to be rugged and easy to clean.

    I never understood this segment. It feels like if you are shopping for a CUV/SUV you are also looking for more room and space. Which then begs the question, what's happening with the Touareg?? (Please don't say that massive pig the Titan will replace the Touareg!) Nice review Marek!

    • @MarekDrives
      @MarekDrives Před 7 lety +1

      New, bigger Touareg is due in H2 2017, along with a 7-seater Tiguan (or VW Kodiaq :) ).

    that thing about trunk space is actually such a scam :D from claimed 615 liters (when back seats are moved fully forward!) + spare tyre you get to space that is actual average hatchback trunk size....

      @markrakov6009 Před 7 lety +2

      well , if you`re blind thats ok, but if you notice how big the trunk space is , your fine

  • @sotirellis
    @sotirellis Před 7 lety +1

    i've probably watched 100 reviews on this car and yours Marer is among the ones i liked best - especially the part with the bumper :) but is this car really a disappointment to you and is it mostly electronics upgrade? the size and looks are totally different !..

    • @MarekDrives

      Have a look at the comparison video linked in this episode. It's a side-by-side comparison with the Mk1 FL Tiguan.
      Perhaps I didn't make my message clear in these videos, but what I mean is that when the first Tiguan was launched, it was THE crossover. There were Qashqais, RAV4s, CR-Vs - all quite competent, but none of them was brilliant. The original Tiguan was. IMO. This new Tiguan is competing in a completely different market. There are a number of good cars in this segment. Perhaps none of them with as many gadgets, as the Tiguan, but then how many people can afford a fully specced Tiguan?

    • @sotirellis
      @sotirellis Před 7 lety

      and even if they can afford it, why not opt for an audi or a bmw x3 for that kind of price - true and i agree with you on that. let me ask one more question, would you recommend the offroad package featured here? are the angles worth it? and also - is the protection below good enough?

    • @MarekDrives
      @MarekDrives Před 7 lety +2

      Well... :)
      Full disclosure: I later found out the bumper was broken by the previous tester. They simply put it back on, and "forgot" to tell VW they had a bit of an accident. So my misadventure just broke it completely (this time parking sensor cables were torn out).
      I had a good look at the rear bumper, and it seems to be made of two pieces. The upper piece is probably the same for all Tiguans, and the lower part changes, depending on the trim (sport, normal, offroad, whatever). The problem with this lower part is that it will always collect sand, mud, snow. Even when you're driving on a normal road, there always some dirt, which will get stuck there. It's going to be hard to wash it out. And if you take the car off road, this part will act like a bulldozer, and collect stuff from the ground, when you go up a steeper hill.
      So the short answer is: if you're planning to tackle difficult terrain it's better to have the off road pack, than sport trim. However although from mechanical standpoint this car can tackle tricky situations, it's inhibited by inadequate approach/departure angles.

    Marek, what do you think about entry level Tiguan? 1.4 petrol 125 bhp for 23k - does it sound like a good value?

    • @MarekDrives
      @MarekDrives Před 7 lety +1

      IMO no entry car-level car is good value. I'd rather go for something smaller, but with better options.

    Ha ha. Marek is my favorite reviewer. So much punishing irony after all these comparisons with VW of all other cars. In the end the only broken car is a Volkswagen.
    As for the car itself, I see they disposed of these stupid square shaped american type wheelarches. The body looks better as well, but the price isn't. So. Of course it is a best car among brothers if You have enough money.

    Its a good car but overpriced like most of the VWs. Even koreans can be bit to expensive, if someone wants 4x4 and bit more power than basic engines but they look like super bargain when compared to Tiguan.

    • @intrepidmilotic5999
      @intrepidmilotic5999 Před 7 lety +3

      The Tiguan is no longer considered expensive,the Koreans and Japanese are almost the same price and they offer you plastic,less technology,safety,no off road ability,and less quality.

    • @roki977
      @roki977 Před 7 lety

      They are not if you want all the goodies. At lest where i live.. I agree that Koreans are quite expensive but closer to Kadjar etc..

    Well. You guys in Poland are going to learn from the Germans. I hope so. If you review something, maybe you don't like, then you don't review it bad, starting with contra arguments and just talking about the bad sides. You also talked about an not working fan at the driver's side. Umm, I don't know how far you know car company's or even Volkswagen but they don't sell them with an defect. If something brakes, that's nothing you have to take care of in an review ! No one is interested in stuff that is not working ! The title says : "Volkswagen Tiguan 2016 (ENG) - Test Drive and Review" and not "Volkswagen Tiguan 2016 (ENG) - All about the contra and defects!". Watch some German reviews and maybe you'll learn from it.
