Fishing Trip Goes Wrong

- I headed out to catch some channel catfish and do a catch clean cook video using the new Whisker Seeker Tackle fish fry product. I was in a decent bite and had put a few catfish in the boat when my dog Skeeter decided to get into something and the trip immediately ended and we headed to the after-hours emergency vet.

Our old lab was snooping in the basement one day and ended up getting a jig stuck in his lip. Thankfully it went through so it was easy to cut and pull out. For Christmas that year we decorated the tree with jigs so he would stay away from it 😄

Hope she ok. Dogs are pretty dang tuff.. My dog use to be hyper in the boat and 1 day he got a jigging spoon to the rear leg . I didn't even know he was hooked until i patted him on the rump while moving spots.. I took the pliers and pulled it out and rubbed ointment on it later when i got home.. She'll be ok

My vat got a treble hook in her lip and her chest. I had to cut the hook out and ripped her lip a little glad everything's well

Try a bucket with a lid on it and a hole that's her snout can't get into
My nephew had the same thing happened to his pup with the same punch bait also looks like the same kind of pup only his is beige.

Man I'm sure glad Skeeter's ok😮 same exact thing happened to my boxer Cassius😢 somehow he use the carpet and pulled it out of his gums... He bled like crazy but was ok I think it traumatize my daughter LOL😮😮
Got my dog with a wooly booger while trout fishing this spring. I let him land the
fish but the fly came out and hooked his tongue i got it out ok but it didnt teach him anything other than I can take the hook out. He likes to retrieve catfish but no treble hooks or stink baits just night crawlers on a single hook

Hello from Oklahoma! Glad your pup is ok. It's just like having one of your kids hurt. 🥺 I'm 61 and it still bothers me. I could tell ya some stories, but another time. Glad the vet got everything squared away.👍👍
Been there, done that. I caught a 120lb Rottweiler on a Budweiser Beer can lure at home one night. He was prowling around in the shed, and knocked over a tackle box, and it opened.
Ouch! Years ago my dog jumped up and grabbed my swinging crappie jig and got hooked through the lip. Luckily I was able to cut the barb off and pull it back through.
Gosh, Chad... don't take it so hard. Things happen.

My brother-in-law brought me his cat, hook through the roof of his mouth and out his nostril (playing with a lure in garage).
My cat brought me a used rod & reel (Zebco 33 if anyone is missing it?). Again, roof of mouth and out nostril.
Critters are tough...betcha you pup is fine now. At least I hope so?

Just pulled a hook out of my new dogs mouth.. I used the Dr's of youtube.. and tied it to a string had my boys hold rhe dog and a super fast hard yank hook was out dog didn't even yelp

Yea I know about this I was messing with crankbait or something one day and was down at my dog and can't remember exactly but hook got caught in my dog's nose and luckily he slung it out after a minute but I guess it was my dumba-- fault to start with
