This is a Kannada classical song written almost 600 yrs ago by Vyasatirtha composed in Raga Yamunakalyani. The Tala is Misra chapu.
Kannada language is so rich and kannada literature has been presented with 8 Jnanapith awards, the most for any Dravidian language and the second highest for any Indian language.
Unfortunately, it's own people are not aware about the richness of their language.
