Go get a drink and a snack because this is another massive review. I had a hell of a time playing the BatChat as a Tier 10 medium tank. I couldn't figure out how to drive this thing successfully as a Tier 10 medium. A lot of people say this is the worst tier 10 medium tank in the game, and I was inclined to agree after failure after failure while playing it. Eventually I figured it out. They're all wrong. This is not the worst tier 10 medium tank in the game, because it's not a medium tank.
It's the best Tier 10 Light Tank in the game, though. By far.
This is exactly how I feel any time I am in a "heavy" tank two tiers under. If I am in a tier 6 heavy and I'm in a tier 8 game, I am no longer a heavy tank. I am now a medium, and play as such. I friggin hate it when the tier 8's die and then start yelling at the tier 6 "heavies" to start "doing their jobs."
same as being bitched at or pushed off a cliff in front of enemy guns while im in my chaffee.....in city maps like wide park or himmelsdorf.....maps like those you really dont need a scout to "do her job"...they are now flankers in those maps

Oh don't worry about it. Everyone has their own opinion and I have no problem with people expressing that opinion here, that's part of the reason why I put these videos up, just as long as folks express those opinions in a reasonable way. ;)
I hated the 3001P at first, one of the worst grinds in the game. But once fully upgraded it's not completely terrible and I also had some pretty good games in it.
there are no bad tanks? Have you met the M3 lee or the newer Grant?

I'm a pretty experienced BC driver and I do agree that it has a light tank play style but it also has a mix of some conventional medium strats and the one thing I Always keep in mind while playing it is hit And run. Run being the more important of the 2. Once u learn and put to practice that rule while playing the BC everything becomes pretty easy. The equipment I use in my BC are the vents, coated optics, and very stab.
In the beginning of every game I usually play it like a light and just get early spots on the enemy team but once things start to get hectic I start the hit and runs which is what the BC Excels at over any other tier 10 med hands down.
Just my opinion on things of course.
im a chaffee driver...chaffee before it's MM nerf where it ALWAYS see tier ten games....so this tank? no problem
Another thing also, driving the bat chat requires a type of mindset..well for me at least because if u looked at my stats half of All my 20k battles I've played are in a medium tanks. It's just my play style and the BC embodies my play style. I tend to play Really aggressively and the BC is perfect for that, of course some would disagree but it's how I play it lol and it's woking out just fine for me

Keep in mind that once your shell drum is depleted, the gruesome reloading time will make you a very easy prey, and the very thin armor will not save you from any kind of shell as it relies on its mobility as a sort of protection. It also has rather poor aim time so you need to get close while moving or stay hidden to fully utilize its awesome cannon. While it can hold ground on its own, it is best used on high-risk high-gain
Still you didn't say a word about a pack of Bat-Chat's. I currently play the 12t and I'm close to the 13 75. But if you are in a pack of e.g. Light tanks, frenchies, auto loaders. You can wreck. And who here will voluntarily jump right in front of two or three Bat-Chat's. Not me... Play it as a flanking tank. Finish off damaged enemies. But most importantly: platoon up with at least another auto loader, like a 50B, Lorraine, or so. You will wreck enemies and strike. Fear into their hearts. I killed a T29 with my friend. We were in 12t's. You can make it. Just keep on the move! Good luck
Batchat platoons are better off without sluggish huge targets (amx 50 120) following them.

Can't argue with that. It's generally something I try to keep in mind in all my other French tanks, the sooner I remember to do it in the BatChat the calmer and happier I'll be.
The 13 90's still a dangerous little tank, I'd recommend playing it.
Prior to patch 7.3 it was the only Russian tier 9 Heavy. In 7.3 they made two Russian Heavy tank lines and made the IS-4 one of the two tier 10s.
This is probably your first video i watched that i disagree with the review, you seem to play more like rambo with this tank. Most the other tanks you start off somewhat cautious. Seems like your almost intentionally placing this tank in a bad position.

yeah i came to the same conclusion with the 13 90, the gun makes you want to play it like a medium tank but it's a light tank that needs to scout be stealthy and do light tank things but still has a good enough gun to do damage when needed. i found this style suitable to light mediums like the t-44 and cromwell too.
Yup. In my later Batmobile games I learned that, learned it the hard way, as you see me doing here.
all jingles had to say was its a tier 10 scout. it's a french autoloader that's what french autoloaders are, the french hesvys are the mediums

I'm panzerpsycho, from the north american server. i love the batchat. to drive it, i suggest using it as a passive scout (use its relatively small size to hide in a bush) until the bigger tanks clear a path. i suggest for equipment, you get a wet ammo rack, i had many problems with ammo rack. also get a v-stabilizer and a gun drive. commander skills:repairs, relaying, sixth sence, eagle eye. gunner, repairs, dead-eye, designated target. driver: repairs, clutch breaking, smooth ride, pre-matain
jingles if i can kill a e-100 in my amx 13 75 you can can do that in a bat chat but single out your targets make sure they dont have backup and when you unloaded your magazine get the hell in to cover for the reload. so when i finally unlock my bat chat im going to use the same play style as my amx 13 75. i hope you enjoy your bat chat now and make another video of this one with some more usefull hint and tips. because i have learned alot from you and quickybaby .
Oh you're right. Well I did say my only experience with the 50B was on the test server, I was sure I killed a T-62A there one on one, but pretty obviously it must have taken a hit from someone else without my realising, because those numbers don't lie.

Not exactly. Just, autoloaders like the 105 on the bat chat have WAY to long a reload between clips. They shouldn't necessarily be able to one clip tanks, but perhaps make the clip reload 20 seconds or so so you don't get rofl stomped by things with single shot cannons?

The BatChat is mix of both light and medium tank characteristics. It have the speed to sight enemy quickly and still have the time to retreat before the enemy have an aim on you. The gun and maneuverability will make flanking an ideal strategy when it is time for you to fight and once you empty the clip, that where the speed comes in and escape to a safe area as the reloading time on the entire clip is long. This is why you never stay with one target. Empty your clip and get out.
To be fair to the AMX40, it does have better armour thickness and sloping than the AMX50 100. You know, the French Tier 8 "heavy" tank.
Not only that but tier 10 batChat is KING of cleaning up mid to late round! So, get skills, 100% camo, biA, snap shot, smooth ride, and 6th sense MINIMUM! Use vert stab. laying drive, and vent. Late-round is where the batty REALLY shines! But before then, with BiA and all the rest, you CAN snipe effectively!
50B has a MUCH shorter reload and higher dmg output, and while it doesn't have much in the way of armour it's comparable to a tier 10 medium at least and you can get bounces with it. I can kill T-62As with four shots in the 50B without much of a problem, can't do that with the BatChat, the gun just doesn't do enough damage even with five shots. I think the 50B still has a place, although it needs to be just as cautious. Only played it on the Test server, though, so far from being expert in it.
This is a year late, but one thing I noticed is that you never loaded a fresh clip. It's the "change casing" command in key bindings, default is "c" I believe. I'm of the mind that, as with the scouts that precede it, the BC is best when waiting until the later end of the match and finishing off weakened enemies. It's almost a natural evolution of the scout line for the french, just with a medium labeled slapped on.

Your right when you say there are no bad tanks. When i had enough for the Sherman, when i sold my M3 Lee, I regretted it! I loved it!
Yeah, it turns very poorly at top speed, I think the suspension got hammered with a ground resistance nerf.
I dont scout with light tanks. I stay behind the Heavy tanks and when the heavy is low on health i flank the attacker. I hate scouting. I love using the Chaffee just to follow heavies and stuff
It warms my heart to hear another person actually say they liked the 3001P despite its flaws.
I find the bat chat to be a very tricky foe to get to grips with. It is a priority kill to be had otherwise it would cause devastating damage if it gets through a team's meds/heavies. I find that the best bat chat drivers are those whom play as support in the beginning to avoid being killed in the early stages of a match and then find an opportunity to take out the enemy arty or assist with a flank.
really? i have AMX12t and its not even that fast i doubt if i´ll make it to tier 8 or 9 .i fell in love wiith frenchs because of the speed (ELC AMX) but thats lacking with the 12t, 13 75 gets any better?

Not just you. All the tier 10 Meds use APCR as credit ammo, their gold ammo is HEAT.
When talking about teir 10 tanks i don't think any reviewer should focus so much on penetration. Teir 10 tanks will be used in clan wars, and tank company battles, so everyone will be using gold ammo. Gold ammo+ hitting weak spots is basically an automatic penetration for any tank if your aiming correctly. Just my 2 cents anyways. They all do 200 Pen anyways without gold, and that can pen any tank with teamwork and hitting weak spots.
u got 5 shots before reloading right? can u actually reload the thing while u have 2 shots left and reduced reload time?
It might surprise you to know that the AMX50 100, a tier 8 HEAVY, has less armour than the AMX40. ;)
I'm not going to argue with anyone who manages to do well in a VK3001P! But yeah, there's certain similariti4es between the two, definitely.

I wouldn't mind of he was, I played the BatChat like an idiot at first, took me a long time to figure that tank out.
Has the batchat made the amx 50b obsolete? Despite any minor hp and armor differences, it appears that although the batchat itself isn't perfect, its speed, low profile, and larger magazine makes the 50b a useless grind.
Dear jingles, don't you think that there is a slight (really slight) correlation betwen the bat chat and the M18 Hellcat? I Mean they both are low maneuverble, very fast, designed to do epic raids on the enemy territory and getting out like a lightning, whilst which they do massive damage to everything that moves? And they're both hard to learn to drive. Just my opinion (propably) you won't agree but you know, I want to know whats yours. (I am a VK3001P fan too :)

It's a medium/light hybrid. Sometime you use it as a scout in forward position, sometimes you flank and provide support for heavies and sometimes you chase enemies scouts to defend arty.
Batchat requires good teammates, it needs other tanks to get shoots for it. It's a very fragile tank. The turret turns so slow...Alone a Batchat can't do shit.
the devs have pretty much made the BatChat the "E-100" of tier 10 mediums. It not only has the worst penetration, but also the worst accuracy, forcing it to get up close and personal with it's under par armor (sound familiar?). Like the E-100, if they gave it better penetration and accuracy (even if the alpha was nerfed) it could attack from medium range instead of getting killed after only 1 load of ammo.
Actually on the official wiki it does say that batchat is a psuedo scout but very flexible can be snipe support or artillery hunter
Hello Jingles, Good review, but maybe have to be mentioned, that T 62A have standard ammo APCR, so if you hit someone it`s 99% chance of penetration.
That is exactly the mistake I kept making, but you might want to watch the whole thing, or at least watch it with the sound on. I say exactly that myself, and then stop doing it.

Its a hit and run situation.... u can try this tactic if you don't like scouting: Stay back with arty for the first few minutes. Theres always medium or scout waiting for the opportunity to sneak behind the team and kill the arty . Protect them for the first 3-4 minutes of the game and snipe as much as possible. Once your sure the arty is safe... everybody will be scattered and ull know where they are ... and you can easily flank any tank you want on the map.

Just an input on how I drive the batchat, first minute of the round go active scouting and find out enemy placement, look intimidating for awhile since everyone don't want to face fully loaded batchat, lastly, look for weak flank, murder them and go into hiding(repeat until dead or win)

I have no problems with the 3001 P, just cause the armour is crap-this is from my perspective-the gun aint bad and the speed aint either

yeah right, your E2 can't see shit, even up close or from a far, a vk can hit your weak spots easily, if not that, then vk can easily outmaneuver and circle the E2, the E8 is better anyway, especial since armor on a medium is useless with all the gold spam
here a good advise: The French Autoloaders get more powerful the longer the battles last (more opportunities to kill alone and with less health .enemys with the very good speed) So you have to survive till endgame. thats tactic in top tier matches. in clanwars you can be used as a artykiller in the beginning as well.
i think the batchat is a Tier 10 hit and run tank like the elc amx on Tier 5 :D you Pop up , put out the full ammoload and run away while you reload . best Speed in the batchat is useable for such tactics even if it has a slow turret traverse

The only way I've ever found the BatChat to work effectively is in combination with other Batmobiles. Now to say that it works for everyone but when playing with 2 other bats your strength multiplies. In an open map where you can fight isolated groups of tanks as a platoon makes you an absolute terror. I've done this multiple times without fail, there is nothing that terrifies any random game player more than 3 bats running together.Only another coordinated platoon can stop you or lucky arty.

Batchat strength are it's speed and it's huge damage output.
Have him waiting for ennemies at advanced position and welcome them with 2-3 shells and move away...
Another important thing, if you aren't engaged, have your clip reloaded.
Do never engage from close distance without a full clip, it's suicide.
yeah the French tanks like the Bat Chat and AMX 12T and up are literally shoot on the run tanks. I don't know what crew skills you would recommend, but my setup is Commander with Sixth Sense, Recon and Repairs, Gunner I use Snap Shot, Repairs, Camoflauge, For Driver it's Off Road Driving, Smooth Ride, and Repairs. What do you think of this skill set-up? I personally think its good but I could be wrong considering you review tanks very well

Jingles, try to platoon with Quicky and someone else like Ike in all tier ten bat chat, then try to go and "tag team" lone or isolated tanks, then run away to reload, then repeat

the Bat Chat is a platooning tank if you have 3 BCs you can make a potential dmg output of 6000 so effectively you can destroy 2 maus with 3 bat chats
The frontal armor doesn't matter on AMX 40 because 1) you're so slow you can't stop enemy from flanking you 2) your gun sucks too much to either snipe from far or keep the enemy from going behind you.

I do understand the way you think of the AMX 40, and I agree with you...It sucks. =P But when you say that you are bad Bat Chat driver do you mean that you don´t know how to use it or do you mean you don´t know how to drive it?(I didn´t get it from the replays) And when people say the word "auto loader", I automaticly think that the tank reloads every round faster, not that that it would have magasines in it. So which one it does mean?
I heard about the batmobile working really well by running through corridors your allies had punched through the field and assasinating targets
jingles, i think it appears to be a support tank. help your allies smash them rather than grab all the kills. the multiple shells keeps them occupied with trying to aim while your ally does.

because WG clasified it as a medium - when in fact it is a 21-25 ton LIGHT TANK.
Then again classifying tanks by weight depends heavily on each nation's view of what is a light, medium or heavy tank.
What I noticed is that you almost never had an escape route. You maneuvered in such a way that the enemy was between you and your safe way out. You are a good player in general and you are this close to being a good batchat player.
Is it just me or does the Bat Chat shooting APCR as its main shells?

Sir, you should NEVER talk about equipment stats, gun accuracy or any other mumbo-jumbo. Instead, focus on the ROLL this tank is to play on the battlefield. 1) Early lights for your team, 2) Fall back and snipe from cover, 3) Flex to the weak side if needed, AND /OR 4) use speed to slip past the front and kill arty 5) flank around to get side shots and force nme turrets to turn to you and finally 6) clean up at the end.
See those 1500 hp? That's for noobs. DO NOT get shot, do NOT expose yourself early, always snipe from COVER.

Cover means hard stuff that will stop a shell. As for concealment....if they can't see you, they are not going to shoot you. Camo for the crew plays an important roll.

In Jingles magnificent mind, its not really a med, it cant effectively play the role of a medium but it does it perfectly in the role of a scout
If you take away the first part then "hit and run" is indeed the perfect description of anything French.
I know this is an old vid... but batchats are not scouts. They are simply mid-late game tanks that are extremely effective. The only time a batchat should scout is if there is no other scouts in the team or if a scout is not spotting in a particular area you want. In that case u move up and spot cautiously in order to keep you aware for when u prepare to FLANK! get out of there as soon as you spot them .... your not there for spotting damage, but to plan your flank
why didnt you use HEAT rounds dont they do more damage and get good pen?

jingles... dude... this tank is amazing... if only WOT was out for xbox one since i only play on 360 i could share some replays with you, though it may be the faster pace of the console version that helps this tank shine, but you do have armor... its just in liquid form (fuel), your biggest mistake is stopping, get a v-stab and a gun laying drive, and snap shot and smooth ride and always fire on the move not never

Hopefully the AMX30C will be added to the French medium tank lines. That tank actually has armor and a regular gun.

umm not really sure if it helps but how bout you play the Batchat as a medium range sniper ? by that I meant staying at back and let the scouts and heavies do the spotting and distracting while you take a good position and unload 3-5 rounds before getting the enemies attention and NEVER try to run and flank enemies when you dont know where most of thier heavy hitters are located. This worked really well for me when I was playing the French light autoloaders.
That's the standard credit ammo for it.
Yes, press C in any autoloader and it will reload the drum to maximum no matter how many are in it already.
So does the M48 Patton, E-50M and BatChat. It's not a Russian exclusive. And it ain't that high a chance. Although it loses less penetration than premium APCR, it still bounces like crazy at times.
This tank looks crazy if you ask me.
You get into the face of a E50M, unload 2000 hit points worth of damage on his face in the space of a few seconds and while he tries to retaliate you're outtta there going somewhere to reload only to get back to finish him off.
This is just too uber to be given good armor as well.
I don't know why you can't see it.
I'd rather have a high alpha gun with bigger reload time because you can just hit cover during the reload.
This is taking it to extremes.
In first 4 matches you go and challenge half of the enemy team alone. There is no tank in game that can survive that. If there is not some excellent spot in map, you should wait and see what is going to happen in the first minute of battle and make your move later. When you can make batchat survive it's biggest flaw is going to be lack of ammo.

Jingels, you seem to run allot of "solo" in the BatCat. Its useless if you use it like that, try and use it as a firesupport tank a bit like a TD fx JpzE100. Its exelent to raid the enemy and then retreat to your line to reload.

I know how to play the Bat Chat. Though I may not have the tank, you've described what it is, and I figured out what to do with it. You must look at the map, and look at where your allies are going, and put the terrain to your advantage, and when the enemies, but in order to do this, you MUST have someone to cover you while you're reloading. I'm not completely sure of this works, because my highest tier is tier 6,(and I only have one tier 6, and it's a Jagdpanzer IV, God help me pls). I'm just trying to come up with ways to help you figure out to play the Bat Chat. Also, if a Bat Chat rammed an AT 2, wouldn't the Bat Chat take more damage? Ty for reading this huge comment, lol.
Lol, I messed it up, at the part when I said 'and when the enemies', I meant to put 'and when the enemies aren't pointing their guns at you, rein fire on them :D
Are you implying that the BatChat should be able to take down another medium with a 5 round autoloader clip? If that was the case, it would be game breaking. Autoloaders give ridiculous burst DPS, many times more than any comparable tank in the game. If their target isn't dead, they speed off and reload.
like a true french ww2 hero, the thing to do IS..... run away, hide for a while, and when the games all but over, you swoop in and get all those Guys with 50 hp left.
