Incredibly beautiful music and wonderful film. I saw it in the 70's in Dublin with a friend. We loved it. I still do do. Diana was so good and beautiful and Vincent incredible. The whole cast was adorable and it just made for a wonderful film, so badly underrated. But there you go......

fg46 iconic moving piece of music moves one to tears with the amazing scene of Mr. Price doing his thing. Something a filmmaker like myself chooses to emulate because it's absolutely gold in a sarcastic yet moving way. 💖🎥💖
Hats off to Michael J. Lewis. The soundtrack to Theatre of Blood is astoundingly brilliant, and to compose a piece as sumptuous and moving as this to accompany such a gory and silly scene typifies the sheer brilliance of this film. Absolute masterpiece of comedy/horror.
One of my favourite horror films with some haunting but so beautiful and emotional music. Almost brings a tear to the eye when listening to.

Thank so much for posting this piece. It is from a wonderful, grossly under-appreciated dark comedy. The theme, which is seldom heard, is really quite lovely. (And who can resist either Vincent Price or the beautiful Diana Rigg? The film is among the best work of each.)

It is not the acts of violence bred by boundless vengeance that affect the witness/viewer-no-it is the naked seduction via utter betrayal in each that drive this film on thru now 5 decades.

Strangely, this movie is a mystery horror ...wow,, i can't imagine what kind of scary movie used music as beautiful as like this one for their scoring? except maybe of course, "don't look now" (1973)
I remember her best as the dashing Miss Peel of the 60s detective Tv serial - Th Avengers. Side by side, with "The Saint" starring Roger Moore, both these serials were fondly watched, as I recall the thrill associated with these interestingly scripted and filmed TV programs.

This this theme from the head cutting scene in third or blood is obviously eventually a tribute to Diana rigg she will be missed and especially Vincent Price this has a great soundtrack I've seen this movie are 100 over 100 times but Vincent Price most evil and best performance was in the conqueror worm AKA w i t c h general which finder general AKA conqueror worm he played the evil Matthew Hopkins w i t e c h finder who gets his just desserts at the end the best revenge killing of all time at the end of that movie it's a must-see
