Hello my name is Laura and I'm 15, and I have a wrong motivation for following Christ and right now I'm having trouble with the selfish motive of escaping hell, and have a very small desire (or none) to have a relationship with God, and I need help. (I'm currently unsaved but want to be saved) but I don't truly understand my sins and I want to be truly saved and truly repent (which a lot of ppl have a different opinion on what repentance is) I'm empty and I have selfish motives (like escaping hell) which make me think that if I have these motives then I won't truly find God and I need help because I'm also not desperate for God and I need help to seek God wholeheartedly...
Hello my name is not Laura and I'm not 15, and I have gone through and continue to struggle with similar experiences. I have never had enough faith to feel the joy of Christ fully or to be completely convinced I'm saved. I've never told this story before but maybe it can be helpful for you. I decided to become a Christian one night when I was awfully afraid and convicted and knew I was going to hell. Christ, sin, and repentance were hardly in the picture as I had grown up thinking of eternity as two different roads you can choose to live, not understanding the gospel. I did my best to get right with God and decided I was going to quit doing a few things I thought might be wrong. The next morning I woke up, was struck with fear, lost all faith, and had a top 10 worst day of my life. Did all the stuff I planned to quit. Didn't tell anyone about my decision. Didn't even know if I was saved. Over the next few months, I tried to do what I thought God wanted me to and went through some very painful experiences. Never knew if I was truly saved. Even at my baptism 9 months later, I don't believe I was fully convinced of my salvation. I tried to muster up assurance in the moment, and did better for a few days. Over the next several months, things got much better. I vowed to read the Bible in a year(2022), and had more of a passion for God. Started watching Christian videos, sermons, etc. I was convicted of sin in my life and did a lot to get right with God and people around me. Worst and best time of my life. A month ago, I realized I don't even have a relationship with God Himself. I vowed to pray 30 mins every day, and had a great few weeks. Until I started to be convicted of things that were very hard to deal with, and doubt crept back in. Now I'm in a time of apathy and doubt, but I have decided I'm simply going to trust Christ and continue to spend as much time as I can force myself to with Him every day. But I still struggle with thoughts of being a false convert and all that.
To more specifically address your comment: We need to see hell as a part of the gospel. need the bad news(our sin and standing with God) to care for the good news. I would encourage you to step out in faith and repent of your sins, turn away from them, focus solely on Christ and trust in Him for salvation. If you can't force yourself, just pray and wrestle with God until you know your saved. You won't be truly desperate for God and His communion until you're right with Him, born again("from above"). Once you're born again, you will receive new desires and passions. It might be gradual. Don't condemn yourself if you don't feel much interest in God after a few days or weeks. The Christian walk, especially in these dark days, is one of constantly fighting doubt and confusion nearly as much as fighting sin itself. I will pray for you for as long as I can remember.

And how could that happen? I had everything. I "knew" I was going to heaven. My God would not care if I sind, and even more, I did not care if I sind. How is that? How could I all of the sudden hate the sin I once loved, and love the God whom I once hated. How can that happen? I had no worries, non at all. Everything was perfect till I heard the true gospel. I was the only guy in the isle late after Sunday evening church playing with my little baby girls waiting for either you or Paul to finish ministering to people. I had already spoke to Paul earlier in the day and my wife & her family are close personal friends of his so I really had more interest in speaking with you and thanking you for your hard work. Yes, My wife & I use to attend High Pointe (Before Juan Sanchez was pastor, I love him). My wife grew-up in that church so she has known Paul ever sense she was six. For the last 10 years we've been members of Dayspring Fellowship (w w w. dsf .o rg). My wife & I try to maintain a lot of contact w/ High Pointe but we love Dayspring.

Yes, I believe you're right. Maybe I should just make a video about all the research I've done on all the many mocker's who come to Christian videos. I have yet to find a single one of them that isn't an apostate. I was doing a word study through Hebrews and found the word "evil" in Heb 3:12 is a communicable multiplying evil, an evil that seeks to bring others along for the ride. If these men are apostates and this is the evil they seek to propagate then its hard not to want to chase them off.
And who makes up a god where there are laws to obey? If I were going to make a god, I would make a god who fit me. I did that, it did not work out though. Eventualy I got to the point where I realized that he would make me fit Him.

Although i agree with some of things that Paul Washer says but I do not agree that we are pure evil, because we were created in the image of God so we have part of God already but we choose to turn away from it while some of us choose to hold on to some part (which we call moralism) and we "know" that it is good. But at the same time we choose to hold on to the selfish (Romans 5-7) because it gives us what we think we want.

@mfentruck Well said. I don't think these B.A. Christians realize the trap they set for themselves. So overwhelming is the evidence for evolution that to continue to deny it is like denying gravity. To be fair, these days most Christians actually do accept evolution, (the reasonable, moderate ones at least).

A rebuke would require at least some exposition of scripture, which u have not done. Debate, laying down the weight of scripture with regard to sin, answering lost peoples questions, defending the flock are, all biblical. I stand w/ the likes of Jesus, Paul, Justin Martyr, Augustine, Luther, Calvin, Edwards, Spurgeon, Sproul, Bahnsen, etc. in contending earnestly for the Faith. MANY former atheists have come to saving Faith in Christ through firm debate & a proper understanding of 2 Cor 10:5.

@xisaiahx43 Depends on what you mean by "accident"? Such terms are contextual to human activity and used to describe unintended outcomes of human actions. To use this word "accident" to describe naturally occurring phenomena is a gross misapplication of it's meaning and a complete disregard for it's context.
Terms like "naturally occurring", "natural selection", "adaptation", even happenstance are far more accurate descriptors of the extremely gradual processes that result in life as we know it.

@xisaiahx43 Well, science doesn't exactly state that matter came out of absolutely nothing, (remember the law of conservation), only that the big bang is consistent with the present state of the universe. What other states exist for the universe is only speculated---dark matter, singularity, a two dimensional realm, a state between energy and matter, are some hypotheses.
Realize also, you have the much more onerous task of explaining the existence of a deity you presume "created" the universe.
