The Interceptor engine was developed at the Royal Enfield research & development centre in Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire. I believe that some ex-Triumph engineers are employed there, so the Triumph connection is probably correct. The frame was designed by Harris Performance, now owned by RE, so it's fair to say that there is a good deal of British-ness in the bike.
100% AGREE! Just Picked up my Mark II last week and absolutely love it. Stopped at cycle gear today, buddy on his road glide special, parked right beside me and couldn’t even bring himself to speak. Not saying that all HD riders have the same deficit in personality, bit there is that heir of superiority. HD riders (in this day and time) have forgotten what motorcycle riding is all about. So grateful for my new ride! I’ve had more fun putting the 150 miles on the Enfield, than any other bike I have ever ridden. Thanks for the video and commentary.
@@pacodawg9879 I'm coming from a 430kg HD Electra Glide Ultra Classic I've had for about 13 years dropping about 950cc but looking forward to changing it for an interceptor about April.
Just swapping out the exhausts saves a shed load of weight! I added Hitchcock straight through pipes and Lextec exhausts and it sounds epic and adds a bit to the midrange.
So many new bikes we have to change so much just to get comfortable or for whatever. Mate i just want a decent bike, $10k plus is quite a bit for me. Second hand bikes seem to have had all the add ons. Even centre stands seem like an add on these days. I havent ridden for 20yrs but i was hoping for a nice ride for $10k. Good review still cheers
It's great that you guys can put on custom exhausts over there. In India anything except stock exhausts isn't road legal and lots of bikes have been impounded because of that.
Yet I'm going to buy a pair and use em with the baffles on highways and without baffles in the neighbourhood 😅. You only get one life you gotta make it large 🤪
Eyyyyup great vids, really enjoying your commentary, I toyed with the idea of an interceptor but opted for a W800 me being a kawasaki fan having had Kawasaki's in my younger days, I got mine from Cobb and Jagger Shipley, would love to see a review on W800, my bike is available if you want to review it. 😀

got mine from alcocks and jones from Stafford it had a sidecar init as well and all set up right. tec canons on mine plus a few delete kits on hee hee i love em reminds me of. y xs650

Ive got the Continental seat but keen to try this....by the way, I would highly recommend the YSS front shock upgrade. Do you not find coming from the bigger bikes the bikes power is a massive come down ? There 47 bhp or they not . I know your both still running in. But i suppose you ride this in a different mindset .
Not at all tbh……it requires a more thoughtful ride to keep the power going at very high speeds but the rewards are far greater than bigger bikes with power which can’t legally be used in the uk 👍🏻
@@thebingleywheeler With my 2020 INT 650 now with over 5000 miles, it's not so much about HP but torque. I think RE did a fabulous job getting the gear ratios just right. I average 63 mpg (US). Fabulous looking genuine upgraded Classic British Twin. Butter smooth at even 80 mph. Cheers!
