Sometimes I have dreams of just wildly creepy levels/maps in games a lot like this. The great chamber with the bridge of hands looks straight out of an FFVII dream I had flying the airship around in a red hellscape.

Now the weird part is that some would offer me special items if I ran errands for them to the living up above. Edit: Forgot to mention that Redeads speaking voice sounds like the Angel of Death from Hellboy 2.
"Giygas invades FFVII" is honestly a very good way to describe it. Like it was really detailed and organic, but still clearly being rendered in the game engine and all low-poly. Eventually I flew around and found Jenova's model had "infected" the world, spreading like a tree and absorbing the entire landscape. If you've played Elden Ring, a good comparison is Godwyn's Dream. This has also reminded me of another dream, clipping through the floor in Spyro or maybe Rayman 2 and finding some smiling young human girl NPC who spoke in broken text and canned dialogue. I just sorta understood she was a cut content character. She scared the hell out of me because despite her stereotypical "cute" design and harmless contextless dialogue, I got the impression she was filled with this horrific level of hate towards me for being cut from the game and for finding her. I wasn't supposed to find her. She was never meant to see the light of day.
I'm getting nostalgic seeing this. First rule of zelda dungeons, start with a mechanic. You can do something very simple like switches or an item. Then build on it. the texturing here is very well done. with these sorts of aesthetics, especially in lower reolution graphics, it's very easy for them to become too 'busy' as well as just plain ugly. a very hearty congratulations to you for this project! some serious skill and talent has clearly gone into this, and I gotta say, it's very refreshing to see a hell-style custom map for a game that isn't an eyesore!

I think you got that OoT dungeon style very well, feels like a mix of Dodongo's cavern and the Shadow temple and the level design looks like it belongs in the game. I really hope you will get that romhack project of yours to the end, because that's definitely something I would play !
Looks great, I loved the detail of Redeads reviving
Welcome to hell, Link! 😈🔥
I don't know if this is Fire/Shadow themed but if it is, then congratulations on being the first one to do it. 😉 Because I've always wanted to see someone make it.
nope, another dungeon will include but not be limited to these two themes
@@debugLog00 abyss temple. abyss medallion
Imagine in the lore of the series that THIS is what the Shadow Temple is like, rather than what it actually is in the game.
Would be awesome, this could be the Deep Catacombs of the Shadow Temple if you drop with the ship before Bongo Bongo’s door.
I remember the shadow temple being disappointing after the bottom of the well, something like this would have lived up to the hype.
Oot, twilight princess and Majoras Mask always have had a dark fantasy feel about them.
I feel the shadow temple is fitting cause..well it's a torture room for sheikahs who "betrayed" the royal family. This romhack makes me think "oh this is the realm between dimensions that's ganondorf sent the phantom to" or a goddess trial
@Rogan you're exactly right. This should be the "Other World" that the ship in the Shadow Temple descends into. This is cannon in my head now.
the texturing here is very well done. with these sorts of aesthetics, especially in lower reolution graphics, it's very easy for them to become too 'busy' as well as just plain ugly. a very hearty congratulations to you for this project! some serious skill and talent has clearly gone into this, and I gotta say, it's very refreshing to see a hell-style custom map for a game that isn't an eyesore!
Dude, I wanna your whole process of making the music, honestly gives me a majoras mask feel ngl. I love it.
That door transition at 6:47 is so smooth and different! Is this a vanilla transition? And the side scrolling room was amazing too! Did you make a new actor for the spinning wheel? Keep up the great work!
I add fixed camera for ground collision near the door to get that interesting transition, glad you notice it
yes the spinning wheel is a new actor. z64rom makes it quite easy to do something like this
DUUDE!! This looks amazing! Shadow temple was my favorite in vanilla oot and this gives off the same creepy feelings I use to get when I was a kid. Not to mention the amount of effort it probably took to get everything layed out and working properly. It looks extremely well made, and I NEED to play through it at some point. Is this part of a rom hack you are working on?
yes, all my released dungeons are definitely playable in the finished romhack
@@debugLog00 Sweet
@@debugLog00 when will this release? aproxx.?
@@jupiterblue3227 at least not in the last few months, but I'm working on it every day
Really well done, I love how realized the atmosphere is^^
damn this looks way beyond awesome bro, keep up the good work i can't wait for a demo or something
This reminds me of Brandon's speech.
You should make a dungeon based off of the original Jacob's ladder. It would be like Majora's Mask meets Silent Hill.
That would be awesome.
Good job on this btw.
This is amazing! I truly wish that the games would have a darker tone to them, and have more of a dark fantasy feel( kind of like Berserk).
Have you ever played majora’s mask man because it is, but this does remind me of berserk eclipse.
@@joshshrum2764 Yes I have played Majora’s Mask; it’s one of my favorite games and in the top three for my favorite Zeldas. Now that I think about it, it really is similar to the Eclipse.
@@shiaaaa1289 Glad to hear it, and that i got you rethinking it when i brought up majora, i was just messing around when i said have you played it because it’s definitely dark themed, and the dead deku kid is something out of berserk.
These are some awesome maps, very unique in appearance and packed full of interesting gameplay. Great job.
This looks incredible! If this is just one dungeon I'd love to see the ROM hack this is a part of!
This is amazing! Love the visuals and the music!
This is what you get when you go deeper than the bottom of the well.
Been seeing a lot more zelda romhacking going on and im loving it. Excited to see where this goes.
Oh snap, you're a hidden gem! I'll definitely be watching all your other videos. I even shared it to my younger brother, we both grew up with Oot and MM
I can’t tell if it’s nostalgia but your work is giving me such vibes. There are just so many infinite possibilities with this franchise. Even with n64 graphics I’d buy it ! Feels like all those Tomb Raider level editors, infinite replay ability.
Looks lovely! Can not wait to see what your full hack will be!
This gives me Berserk vibes, the map could also fit well on a Doom 1 or 2 setting, vibe wise that is. And that sidescroller section is amazing. What a neat design this map has.
All of your maps are so cool and inspiring! I hope I can create maps like that someday.
Wow. something like this is what i've wanted in a zelda dungeon for a little bit now. I love the dark atmosphere, mixed with the soundtrack, it all blends very well together. There's always a sort of tension to it, like there might be a big Dead Hand right around the corner.
Oh man, now I'm anxious for this romhack. Nice work.
I LOVE this. I can't wait to see more!
This was great, would love to see more like this, with a dark ominous boss as well!
Yooo wtf. That 2d section at 7:10 was so cool. Would've never expected to see somethin like that from and oot based rom hack. Keep up the hard work man everything you're doing looks incredible 🤘🤘
This is very good! I love the music especially.
wow i love the spooky music and the mouth/hand decorations. the whole place was quite spooky and fleshy
Damn
That dungeon seems HUGE ! There is a lot of room and I love the creepy atmosphere ! I hope that the zone outside the dungeon will be also something similar to put you in the atmosphere before as well !
This looks amazingly hellish & very playable! Love the dark classic Shadow temple vibes with even darker score. Would be super stoked to play a final product 💯%
Super Cool! Everything's there: Chests, enemies, items, scalable walls and lots to explore! Awesome job!
Whow its like the Shadow Temple on EVERYTHING love it. Keep it up!!
This is so cool! I love the creepy vibe and a haunting music. It feels like a scrapped out beta version of shadow temple. Keep doing your work man!
In case you want to know but the backround music is actually supposed to be the Black Sabbath song "Black Sabbath" from 1970 the first Heavy Metal Song ever
That note you constantly hear is called the devils Tritone really darn evil.
@@user-ol7bt4wp1j I didn't know it was a Black Sabbath music. Plus i love black sabbath! My favorite is Iron Man
Gurl, this is absolutely amazing! I stumbled upon this per coincidence and I am 100% in love with your interpretation of a dark dungeon. Love all the red, always makes me uncomfortable as hell. Also the music (first thought you messed it up ^^") so quiet and in certain rooms it changes to be completely... Whatever it is. Love it. Totally reminds me of Aghast. I'd love to see a Dungeon Boss concept!
Bruh this video is blowing up, map looks amazing, same with your other ones. Can't wait until you release these fully.
This is so cool man! I hope it gets finished sometime!
Nicely done, you totally nailed how Link can hover and float through the air like that
Wow... this is amazing. Major props my dude.
This dungeon
Is perfect
From the music
To the design
Just
Amazing
lot of cool textures in this, looks great!
The nostalgic roller coaster is taking me on a ride
First impressions are always important and the moment i saw that graveyard covered in red fog with a giant hed with swords impaled vomiting a lake of blood with that menacing music on the background...i knew this romhack was going to be something special
what the hell this dongeon is awesome. Good work! Very hype to play it someday, when its all ready :)
If I would've played this dungeon as a kid, I'd still be terrified when playing it now. amazing job love it
I love how eerie this is!
Love when dungeons have a hub in the center, gives it more of a atmospheric entrance that way.
i feel as if this is where you’d fall if you fell in the pit that sits below ganondorfs castle
That is really cool that you took the map from bottom of the well and made this. So this is what it feels like when OoT has DLC LOL ! Great work!
Impressive! The side scrolling part was a nice touch as well.
I envy you. I always wanted to make stuff like this, but never knew what to use make these. I love fanmade romhacks and yours is very cool
Black Sabbath! 🤘🤘 Didn't expect to hear it! Love the level design btw! 🔥
Dude, using Black Sabbath's intro as theme is a Master move
Subscribed. This is too cool
I won't watch the whole video, I want it to be a surprise. Please don't stop developing your hack, and keep us updated
new stuff will be posted soon : )
