I use soil that is called "kurotsuchi" in Japan.
You can see detailed instructions on how to raise them in a video I posted previously titled "How to keep a common rain frog English edition".

The only change I've made since then is that I now put mostly kurotsuchi, with a little bit of akadama soil on top.
