- Aired just yesterday (27.10.2014), this is the first of the highest scoring losers in the first round. We've got London School of Economics vs Open University. I really hope Manchester did make it through
I was so glad that Pinto, whom Paxman had nastily mimicked, got the first correct answer of the contest.
Karen T-S oh he was only having a bit of fun you miserable sod!
It clearly didn’t upset him.
Chen looks like a grand master who could paralyze you with a swift jab to a pressure point located between the neck and collarbone
8:59 Chen trying to pick up Paxo.
24:18 When Paxo turns him down.
cheers yaorito1!
Gibney MVP
MVP?! MORE LIKE OVP!!!!!!
Mo is super keen
THE HIGHEST SCORING LOSING TEAM AND OPEN PLAY LIKE THIS?!
Open talked quite a long time to find the answer to the questions. Annoying if you ask me :/
I know. The old lady has to take forever before she would give an answer
yaorito1
We all get old.
+IndicateADeviation I personally loved them. I don't think they took any longer than some of the other teams we've seen and unlike other teams, they used the time well to reason their way to answers that they clearly did not know. Plus, they seem to have a great rapport with one another.
+IndicateADeviation You have to remember they're from all round the country - and unlike other teams they won't have had as long to bond and get used to each other. They won't interact the same way as teams that have been meeting locally and practising over and over again for a while.
Yeah, even if they clearly knew the answer they still conferred for ages.
HBC..........
The Canadians would be screaming
LSE has to be the weakest team to have been given a chance to qualify.
Is it really fair to have that massive age gap between the teams? Because more years alive = more knowledge and everyone knows that
+amesakurako1 And yet Jones didn't know any more than plenty of them!
There is no age limit, as long as you are a student there you can play. Perhaps it should be limited to a certain level of student like Masters and below but not age.
True, but you could also argue that younger minds are quicker and sharper, you may have a wider breadth of knowledge when you're older, but it may take more time for you to recall it.
More time to forget stuff, too. Especially as a lot of knowledge is picked up in school
