Great to see you back Frank, congratulations on yr family's move to Florida, 554 birds are doing great, going threw there molt, looking forward to breeding them this Fall !! 👍🇺🇲
Could you please make a video on your new loft design, rationale including FL climate considerations and then a follow up on the actual construction. 🙏
Hey Frank, quick question!Do “corky” pigeons get their traits from their parent’s genetics or from some other factor? Love your videos, very informative and insightful! 😁
Awesome to see u again my mentor! Good luck staying in Florida. I know you have to adjust alittle bit but you'll it there with your family because beaches are just close by.
Frank glad to see your new video. congrats on the move to florida. I had a problem with watching the live stream kept getting and error until two day after when i was able to watch. maybe in a future videos you can talk about the loss of young birds. I have had a real problem just loft flying and loosing birds. I have recently been reading on chats that losses in young bird races in Europe have been pretty big, also some of the OLRs are getting big losses. Is there anything we can do to slow these losses? thanks
Hi John, Losses are crazy and I had the same problem with my brothers young bird team. I think my issue might be falcons. After one toss the birds were circling, disappeared and only 60% came back. We lost ten on one loft fly when the birds had been flying so well. It is not as easy as this was years ago. I think the peregrines come back are causing issues.
Wow men , you are more than welcome to clear water, l leave in Sarasota, 30 min away. In Tampa there is l very competitive club, and in Sarasota is my club which is good to , welcom home
Great video and info Frank. You have mentioned some time ago of youngsters which have some white toe nails, you moved them direct to the stock loft.Is this your personal observation that this pigeons will be good racers/breeders or is there more to this feature?
Hello, For some reason sold colored pigeons with white toe nails turn out to be better racers and breeders. Keep an eye on this. Watch this video: czcams.com/users/shorts2PuNdvuRBr4?feature=share
Hi Frank. Thank you for another great video and sharing your knowledge with new fanciers like myself. How important is it that the 2-3 road tosses in between races are on the race course direction? My club races are in the northwest direction but its a pain to drive that direction. Will I do as well if I do the 2-3 road tosses in the north or northeast direction vs. the race course direction northwest? Thanks again
Hello, Once the pigeons are trained out and educated the direction you take them down the road does not matter. Do what is easier for you and train what saves you time and effort. They will fly great. Once of the best seasons I had in my life against 200 lofts and 2500 birds a week I was training dead south and we raced from the west. The birds knew the game.
Thanks for all the information I’ve been following for a while doing your health and feeding regimen even using Nubiotic this weekend was our first race 100 mile I got smoked #50 for my first bird I’m thinking maybe to heavy feeding on shipping day ?
Keep the faith and let the birds get more experience. Feed the barley mix day of shipping. No need for heavy feed for short racing. If they are super healthy, trained and educated well they will be just great.
I have not treated for malaria. I know it is carried by the pigeon fly. I do try to keep the pigeon fly away. I think the problem is more an issue in the south or warm climates.
Frank correct me if im wrong but one of your videos you said you use the 70/30 mix till 500 or 600 milles race as long is a 5 or 6 hour race or more the day of shipping you mix the 70/30 mix half with half fat seed younbirds and old birds?
Hi Frank, When racing young birds, what do you feel is too strong of a head wind to send your birds? And is it different for a 200 miles race vs a 400 mile race. Thank you!
Hello John, For some reason the birds usually make really good speed on short races like 200 miles. I do not worry about headwinds for 200 miles. 400 miles is another story and can be extremely tough. Usually for old birds they can handle stiff wind of 10-15 mph if conditioned and fed right.
Hi Frank, just one question. I followed your routine about Saturday racing and feed everything they want that day and back to 70% barley next day and one 70mile on Monday....What will you treat those late comers on Sunday?
I give all the late comers a day or two of the very rich feed. They need to recover so you must manage them individually if you put them in a cage or move others and feed late comers separately. The late ones need the rich feed more than the others.
I feel when the scales are gone from the breast the form on the bird has gone by. Better to have some scales maybe starting to break up a bit than completely bare.
I am not sold on Forearms. Maybe something to use but I would not discriminate over a pigeon that has it all and the forearm is not short enough. I heard Jelle Jellema pigeons have longer forearms but I am not sure about that.
Best CZcams channel for information on racing pigeons. Also has Great birds for sale. Thank you Frank for all you do.
I appreciate this. I will keep the videos coming.
Hi Mr Frank

Hello Eddie, I am having fun and I always appreciate you.

Yes they do. You can select for corky buoyant pigeons for breeding and it makes this game so much easier.
Alright.. thanks for the new livestream Frank.. more information for me😎👌
I had fun. Thank you!
Thanks Frank !
Austin from Omaha
Happy you enjoyed!

Very nice of you. I am enjoying Florida but the driving is a bit crazy and I am from the Boston Area.

@@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons thanks again I’m feeling optimistic now for this weekend 👍
I took 6th and 13th and was 3rd loft it’s working thanks Frank 🏆🇺🇸
Hey Frank, Thank you so much for the live stream. I missed you this time. However, I’d like to ask you.
Do you treat for malaria? If so, how?
I have not treated for malaria. I know it is carried by the pigeon fly. I do try to keep the pigeon fly away. I think the problem is more an issue in the south or warm climates.
Is Your feeding system works on High flyers ?
I've applied many of Frank's techniques to highflying breeds. Yes, it works.
I also feel like Kerby that you will be amazed on how the high flyers perform feeding like me.
Frank correct me if im wrong but one of your videos you said you use the 70/30 mix till 500 or 600 milles race as long is a 5 or 6 hour race or more the day of shipping you mix the 70/30 mix half with half fat seed younbirds and old birds?
That is pretty much what I do. I feed the fat seeds for two days usually for two days before 500 and 600 miles.
@@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons thanks for the answer and one last question you use apple cider vinager 45 ml( 1 1/2oz) in 4 liters of water correct?
That dose will work just fine.

What do you mean when you said that the birds gone by when you see no scales on the breast muscles
I feel when the scales are gone from the breast the form on the bird has gone by. Better to have some scales maybe starting to break up a bit than completely bare.
Hi Frank. Your thoughts on short forearms having the advantage on hard head wind days?
I am not sold on Forearms. Maybe something to use but I would not discriminate over a pigeon that has it all and the forearm is not short enough. I heard Jelle Jellema pigeons have longer forearms but I am not sure about that.
