Stopped at a Waffle House one town over (in Alabama) with a friend at like 3am for coffee. One side of the place was drunks and bikers, the other side was two cars worth of cops that someone called just in case they got rowdy. Waffle House really goes above and beyond to make you feel like you never left your house.
Bro, Buccee's is a fucking menace of civic planning. Those things have no way in or out that will EVER meet the traffic flow.

Yes, they built one in my area (the only one in the state!) and every single major "travel" holiday, our entire Interstate highway is just bumper to bumper traffic jam until you get past Buccees. The lanes just get blocked with cars either sticking out of the off-ramp trying to pull in or trying to change lanes to get to the off-ramp in the first place. It's a nightmare and I hate that place so much. It was fun to visit a few times and then I was over it. What an awful place.

I've only ever been to them at ungodly hours of the night/morning in the middle of a long road trip, so I wouldn't know. I can't imagine trying to frequent one locally for like... lunch break. To me it is only for travel.

15 years ago I worked late night at both a Denny's and IHOP in Buffalo. Yeah, a PvP zone sounds about right. Gang fights were not uncommon, individual fights were expected. One night some dude walked in and calmly asked if someone could call an ambulance, we asked what was wrong, and the dude rolls up his sleeve and casually says "oh, I got shot", revealing a gaping bullet wound on his upper arm. I have tons of stories...good times!

Woolie, I'll break it down for you like this: in the American south, sauces are like CVS2 grooves for your meal. The sauce you pick enhances or changes the vibe of every other food you got. Sometimes you want something dependable like C groove, and sometimes you want a sauce that reacts to different flavors like N Groove, and sometimes you need that quick spice and flavor like K. That sauce bar lets you select your groove. Hope you get to try a sauce bar at a southern bbq restaurant one day. If you do, grab a few different sauces to try and open the lab up.
I like to imagine that the second you walk into a Denny’s late at night, you can only move in tank controls.
Speaking as the guy who did nothing but french fries for 2 years at a specific restaurant, I can confirm that the more hate and anger you have the higher the potential for the meal as you have to use that anger productively, because watching a coworker trying to fist fight a supervisor is a poor way to channel that anger.
All memes aside Waffle House is generally chill and the food is great you just have to be careful in some locations after dark when because thats when PVP is enabled since thats when hungry people who had likely been drinking and club hopping stop by.
Arby's is really its own weird thing. Also, I feel like Golden Corral deserves an honorary mention somewhere.

I live in the home town of Sheetz, we have three other individual comparable stores for like 30 miles. There is one Rutters, one Sunoco, and one GetGo. Other than that, I swear there is a Sheetz every 8 blocks.

At my local kbbq/hotpot place's sauce bar they have little signs with sauce combos, it's very helpful since the sauce possibilities can be overwhelming.
1:08 can't be worse than that Quebecois dish "pigs ears". Refrain from trying it. It's corn chips dipped in pig lard. No seasoning, no spice, just the overwhelming taste of lard. It's terrible.
This is especially egregious as we Americans also have a pastry called an elephant ear (or beaver tail depending where you're at) which is a light fluffy fried dough pastry rolled in cinnamon sugar and it is delicious. If i saw that I'd assume something similar and accidentally try it

I read a sci-fi story called "Termination Shock" recently. I was a little disappointed with it overall though I was rather captivated by the characters and just where the plot could possibly be going.

I got to chat with the Waffle House CEO and one of their Vp's a few years ago. What surpised me the most was- despite Waffle House being known as a place that will keep running through the harshest storms and greatest floods, they actually think very little about resilience at the top. It's just a thing that happens and is done as far as they were concerned.

In regards to the 'voice actor vs real actor' discussion.... the taxi driver is right.
Yeah, voice-acting is a real job and i'm sure it's hard work, but it's also like one-third at most of a real actor's job.
A voice-actor and mocap actor is closer to the full job, but even that gets to ignore most of the costuming and makeup issues.
A voice-actor doesn't have to spend five hours in the gym with a personal trainer every day to get the build that he needs to convincingly play Batman.
He doesn't need to do exhausting fight-scenes out in the blazing sun while sweating his ass off wearing half his bodyweight in padded leather.
No voice-actor ever had to sit in a makeup chair for two hours to have fake ridges stuck onto his forehead so he could play Worf in Star Trek.
So no, voice actors aren't the same as 'real' actors.
The job takes less work. That's why they don't get paid as much.
And all voice-actors probably know this, which is why the lady in question didn't make a big deal about it, and it was Woolie who was being weird towards the cab driver about it.
Also, even if the cabbie was wrong, why would he be obligated to change his opinion just because someone else didn't like it?

That sort of attitude is why voice acting from actors who don't have actual voice acting experience is usually pretty awful.
Like, the new Scott Pilgrim anime was great, but the returning actors from the movie included people who have voice acted before and people who hadn't. And the difference between the two is so stark within that show, it really emphasizes how important voice acting is to animation.
Voice acting might take less effort, but it takes just as much talent.
