Everytime I hear this song, I always cry. Because no matter who you are, or what you've been through, these lyrics relate to you. I guess I can say that James said it best; when it falls apart, there's no easy way to break somebody's heart. When I had to do it, it would be so hard, and yet when it was done, there's nothing you can say or do to ease the pain that it causes. Anybody who knows what I'm talking about will cry or feel something when they hear this song. James did one hell of a job singing about how things get or they're gonna affect those who we love and have to let go.

when i was young i used to feel real bad for for the lady in this song and it made feel like i have to be good to women in general, it touches more than just a love relationship, it teaches you general respect for peoples feelings..

This is a very important song to me. It describes my breakup with a girl in 1981 that has haunted me till this very day. The song almost perfectly describes our actions during the break-up. I remember her telling me that her mom told her when she was a little girl that "sometimes when you love something, or someone you have to let it go, and if it was meant for you, it would find its way back to you".
