    I like the crimp idea or I was thinking glue it again and put the shrink wrap on and put glue down in the crevices between the wrap and the cord. Maybe thatll help it stay strong and hold.

    For mine, instead of just glue I used some serving string I have laying around for when I work on compound bows, very strong and thin, or you could use braided fishing string also, then a little glue and string tube. 👍🏼

    Wow that’s cool. Almost works better than a winch. Just make sure to stand back when using it and setting it. If that thing snaps and hits your hand or leg it would hurt with that metal hook. I might try one on my trx4

  • @ChrisDavis-eq9lj
    @ChrisDavis-eq9lj Před 4 lety +1

    I've been making some bungee cords for my rigs using 1/8" cord and de-barbed fish hooks. I use a couple of inches of Malin Co. Aircraft Stainless Steel Lockwire .032" to bind the bungee to the hook by wrapping it around the bungee and the hook shank. Holds very well and might work for your hook too.

  • @lowbudgetrc352
    @lowbudgetrc352 Před 4 lety

    When I made mine I had the same problem with the loop coming undone. The trick is to make your loop. Then put your hook in a vise. Pinch the end of the line with vise grips. Stretch your loop then wrap and glue it. If you glue and wrap it without the line stretched. When it stretches it gets smaller and the glue doesn't hold. Good luck brother!!!

    • @DSMOffRoad
      @DSMOffRoad Před 4 lety +1

    Can you do this test with a heavier vehicle? My god, that was impressive. For the heatshrink, try one that has glue built in.

    • @DSMOffRoad
      @DSMOffRoad Před 4 lety +1

      It works for heavier vehicles just not as well as it's all down to physics.
      Any glue joint will not work for that application. A mechanical fastener or proper knot is the only way to go.

    • @ExocagedRC

    Or maybe try using a bread tie to wrap up the end of that line with so it don't come undone again bud. Burn the plastic off of the wire first of course, or just use wire that strong and that small. It don't have to be a bread tie per say
