    i absolutely love that Ford blue paint…even more so at around twenty years old when it starts to fade and take on that ‘patina’ the weathered look…it takes years to get that and you can’t get it from out of a tin …but everything still running strong…and that idle…with that diesel smell…. beautiful

      I’m not one to try and pander to the seat warmers and knob jockeys.

    My father had a contracting business here in TASMANIA (AUS). with a Ford 8401 which was a 2wd dual range 109hp tractor. That managed to get to 26000 hrs before it got a pin hole in no 5 cly wall.(when the dealer mechanic seen the bores he couldn't believe the hrs it had done😂 . Then the dealer contacted Ford & they wanted to purchase the motor & put it on display)I think what helped, is it was like a taxi! the motor rarely had a chance to stay cold, it was used all year round doing ground prep,sowing,mow,rake & bale! We would sit the motor at 1800 revs. We also had MF 4840 903 265hp with 17000 hrs last I new.

    Another tractor I had a lot to do with was a 1973 ford 7000 it was sold to the main farm on the estate where my parents had a small holding in 1982 the farmers son my friend turned it over it was classed has not worth repairing because the cab was bent so he purchased it back and we fitted a Duncan q cab and because it had done over 10000 hours fitted a new early 7610 complete early engine which where available at very competitive prices being a non dual power it was lovely to drive you could go up and down the box like a car we once dynoed the tractor and it had 108 hip on the dyno the only trouble we had with it was pto clutch has it had 6 plate pto hub but once we fitted 7610 pto 8 plate hub with stronger piston it was ok I have never driven such a powerful tractor for its size and weight and when he changed it for 8210 4wd later he allways regretted it I think it was exported to Ireland I often wonder does it still exist tragically my friend was killed in 1990 hence my tractor career coming to a end but watching your videos has really sparked and interest in me again

    Love the vids was watching your tyre video and they are really interesting. I was wondering if you could do a video with one of the tyre companies on how to work out what pressures to put into your tyres cause it’s all very well saying put 8psi in the front if there a load of two tonnes on each tyre but I don’t have any large weighing scales to work out how much weight is on the tyre. I have tried to use the mitchlin tyre pressure Calculator but it so complex trying to get the weight of each axle what machine length of machine balance weight on front how far the weight is forward it just does not work. Thanks

    • @LordMuck
      @LordMuck  Před 4 lety

      Which engine are you referring to ?
      Pure 'coolant' such as JD Coolgard are just premixed but at a higher strength but not 'pure'.
      Pure unmixed antifreeze actually loses some of its anti-cavitation, cooling and coolant lubrication/flow properties.
      I do however use a de-ionised >50% mix 👍

    • @zzirSnipzz1
      @zzirSnipzz1 Před 4 lety
