    Have the V3 but also thinking about getting the V4. For some coffees I love a conical dripper, and even though I own a V60, the look and user experience of the Orea is just much nicer. Cannot justify it now though haha. Great video as always!

      Thank you for watching. I have lots of fun with my Orea, not so much with the negotiator though 😛

    Love your videos! I’m still almost exclusively brewing espresso and making that into americanos. I feel with my equipment that’s how I get the best flavor from the high quality coffee I buy.
    However, when I’m traveling I try to find coffee shops that make pour overs. That seems to be a good sign they are using single origin coffees of higher quality to showcase.
    I wanted to ask you if you think you get as good a representation of coffee through pour overs as you do with americano since you do both.

      Thank you very much for watching. I was mostly into espresso until I built up my dream setup. As soon as that happened, I went into pour overs 😛 Like with everything, it takes time, skills and a bit of luck to get a perfect cup but once you get it, it can be really satisfying. Especially with light fruity coffee, I can get more from pour overs. Not always, but often.

    I have narrow V4 with magnets, after couple of swaps (literary couple) the magnet came loose from the negotiatior and I had to superglue it back and it works fine since.
    If you flatten the Kalita filter and use the same step as for sibarist, it's much better result in placing the filter to Orea nicely. The best is to place a dry paper with Negotiatior in and then wet everything in the sink. paper sticks to orea nicely.
    I am not a big fan of Apex, if feels like the paper is going to fall out of the brewer, especially when too much water is poured in, but definitely will still give it a chance.
    Orea is my first flat bottom brewer and I don't think there'll be a need for any else really, it never stalls, consistent and with the amount of options to play with, it's great fun.

      What exactly would you like to see?. I was hoping for coffee gurus to dive into it and provide us with different recipes ect I could try on my channel,but not much is going on. Even on Orea website you will hardly find any recipe design purposely for that system. Hopefully it will change soon.

    Thank you for being one of the few video reviewers of the new Orea V4 wide and the negotiator. You mentioned that it had slightly more body than V3. I do not have a flat bottomed brewer, but I want to get one that gives good, chocolate smooth body and some nice acidity (depending on the coffee). Is this a good choice for that, or would you recommend another?

    • @mycoffeeshow111
      @mycoffeeshow111  Před 29 dny +1

      Thx for watching. In fact next week I should have my V4 vs V3 video ready but to answer your question, wide Orea V4 should work nicely for you and you can play with different attachments according to what you brew.

    Does the wide V4 negotiator fit the Kalita Wave (185 size) stainless steel dripper?

      @mycoffeeshow111  Před 22 dny

      Good question. My guess is that it won’t but I don’t have steel Kalita so can’t say for sure.

      Yes, i think they are having big issues with their production. Since the release of V4, we haven't heard anything from them. Hardly any posts on Instagram and it's been very quiet otherwise. Before that, I often chatted with them on Instagram and there were info emails etc.
      Hope they will Catch Up, awesome Brand and the Orea is one of the best brewers! 🖤

      @davidjaniszewski6653 Před 2 měsíci +1

      I agree it's over priced. I don't think they had to spend a ton on R&D for such a simple device. It's not like it's a espresso machine with many moving parts.
      Hario still make their products in Japan for a fraction of the cost of these Chinese made items. If I buy a Orea it will be a glass model to hopefully last a lifetime and not add potential plastic leaching into my coffee

      @@mycoffeeshow111 I've experimented with every flat-bottom dripper out there. The Torch stood out, and now it's the only one I use.

  • @littlestar5737
    @littlestar5737 Před 2 měsíci

    I have used V3. But found it to be no better than other flat bottom drippers. Price is not an issue but anything plastic or 3D printed gets negative reviews in my book. So thanks for reviewing it, but no thanks to Orea (ugly name). I'd stick with Torch, which is much better option, aesthetically and funcionally.

      Thx for sharing your experience. I see your point. Once, on holidays, I made flat bottom brewer by cutting the bottom off soda can. And it was good.
