Most definitely and I'm sure that some of them perhaps many of them were part of the civil war and they can't believe that the civil war ended in 1865 and unfortunately that's when Lincoln got shot too but now it's already 1902 and so they're thinking like here we are in the future! But OMG what about *US* now in 2024??? Are we "way back in the past" to people who are watching OUR videos in 2124?????? It's almost like what does the present time even mean it seems also relative we are living in these people's future... And yet other people in our future are looking upon us like we are way back in the past it almost doesn't make sense it's like someone needs to find what the current instant means and what the present moment even means! And now a few seconds in the future I'll hit send and this will be in my past as well as everyone else's past. Seriously WOW when you think about it!

It makes you a smarter person with a greater perspective. I think we've lost that and it's sad. He saw horses and Carts, motor cars, aeroplanes, Jets, Derigeables, the Atomic Bomb, Two World Wars, Korean, Vietnam, Gulf War, Moon Landings, Gas Lights, Electricity, Vaudeville, Harry Houdini, Three Stooges, Sports Greats like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jackie Robinson, Mickey Mantel, Tyler Cobb (Everyone hated him although he was the best). Nickelodeons, to Silent films to 'Talkies', Radio, to Television. It's quite a bit. He said people were much more civil to each other. What people today don't realize is the stench of the cities then. There were THOUSANDS of horses producing tons of manure. In the summer, the smell was everywhere. When it rained, the manure could be spread around for people, horses, and wheels to spread it even farther. THAT was one of the main reasons why city people wanted to get out to the country --- fresh air with no smells.
I once saw an early 20's truck and tilt-bed trailer with a winch whose purpose was to remove dead horses from the streets of a city, a job I had never thought of.
This is what my grandfather came into as he was born in NYC in 1903.

First person to fly a glider in Hawaii, helped invent air to ground radio. Invented a gunsight for aircraft and invented the old style seatbelts in aircraft that had a flat handle part on the buckle. I sure miss you Pop Pop. Sharp as a tack, taking computer courses at 103, he just didn't wake up one morning.

I remember 1954 living in Chicago Illinois seeing horses pulling buggies and wagons with blocks of ice, one horse wagon had watermelons. Both were sharing the same streets with cars, and trucks. Near the end of President Eisenhower presidency going into the 1960s the horses and buggies wagons disappeared. I noticed there's no cars in this 1902 new York city video. This video was before that 1918 flu pandemic. REMEMBER the first automobile was electric cars. You have to crank it up by turning a handle in front of that car.
