- Hey guys! For today's writing video I thought I'd try something different and do a 'write with me' style writing vlog. I'm currently writing the rough draft of my novel, and thought it would be fun to take you along for a day in my life as I try to write this thing! Hope you like it! :)

Currently working on editing my 1st draft, which you can watch my experience writing it on my channel (but that's not why I'm here), and I would absolutely love to see more videos like this. Watching videos like this while writing & editing help me be more productive.
I like to watch Kim Chance. She's the author of the Keeper series.
I enjoy how positive that she is in her videos. She brings a good energy.
I am also writing a novel. I am on the second draft and getting it ready for beta readers.

I love this! Watching NaNoWriMo videos is what inspired me to finally start writing my first book (halfway done whoo!) I love that bit at the end, I’ve been really struggling with writing every day for the past few weeks because I haven’t had a great 3k writing day in so long. But any progress is better than no progress! Excited to watch more of your writing vlogs!

Totally agree, it's not really about writing thousands and thousands of word every day (that's not even the "hard" part), rather than making the habit of writing constantly (the REAL hard part)

I actually just started to outline my new story, which is always fun haha. It’s a Russian inspired fantasy, and watching this video really inspired me to take the rest of my day and just write.

You’re making awesome progress on your book! Congrats! I’m currently writing two books, one solo fantasy book and one I’m co-authoring that has been in the works for quite a bit of time (and has been through several rewrites and edits) but is almost done (finally!) lol).

I'm actually working on two novels. 1 of them I want tu publish on wattpad just for fun. But the other one I want go the traditional way. Lets see how it goes. This vid was super good. Thank you

In my opinion you don’t just have to write you can also do research like I am doing how I am doing research on a book I’m writing about a band called the cranberries I’ve been reading my books about the cranberries for many many years but I don’t just do writing some days I just do research when I don’t feel like writing or Sundays I do writing some days I do all three writing editing and research it all depends on the day sometimes I do every day and sometimes I do writing sometimes I do research it just depends on the day and I just make sure to keep my Brain in the world of writing about the cranberries

I’m so loving all the writing and reading blogs it makes me feel so inspired.. how do you stay motivated with writing and/or get over blocks??
Having the daily word count goal really helps, that way even on days when I don't feel like it, I just push through until I get to the word count!
I can write anywhere from 2 to 3 thousand words in a day. Roughly 2 or 3 hours depending on if I take breaks.
I'm also writing a novel! A few, actually. Editing one with beta readers/critique partners, another is in its first draft.

What word processing program do you use? I am using Microsoft Office.
Who sings the music at the end your video? I used to listen to it. But I never knew who sang it. Lol
What writing software do you use? Also, you're not alone with watching other people write, I do too :) My friends think it's weird, but I find it motivational haha

I have a question: what do you prefer to listen to while writing?
it really depends! When I'm somewhere quiet a lot of the time I don't listen to anything, but if I'm in a loud coffee shop and want to focus I'll listen to some stuff. In this video I was listening to the "indie chill" playlist on spotify
Katesbookdate I see... I’m still trying to figure out this part. An album (sort of a concept album) by my favourite band is actually what inspired the story I’m trying to write, so listening to that is what puts me in the mood to write. But while writing, I’m either not listening to anything (very rare because I live with my family and they’re a noisy bunch) or I’m listening to a tv show or movie soundtrack that matches the theme of what I’m writing.

Also, sorry I forgot to ask earlier: how do you outline/plan your story? do you use a particular app/method? And how much do you actually plan a scene before actually sitting down and writing it?
I have so many ideas but I have yet to write a word. This is really inspiring though. Maybe I will settle down with one idea and start writing that novel. I had this idea for novel. Its about a girl who comes home from college for her fathers funeral.

I really need to NOT be afraid to rough draft. I feel like I feel the need to be perfect first time around when I can't. I mean, final draft isn't even perfect. How can an author who doesn't draft draft a book

I always try to write but too many distractions. How do you do that.
It depends on what you're getting distracted by! I put myself in a location that minimizes my distractions. Also I find that once you get started and are kind of in the zone it gets easier
