The process of felling the trembesi trees on the edge of the rice fields using a stihl ms 881 chainsaw and husqvarna 395 XP chainsaw, the best wood cutting machine in its class by a professional wood chainsaw operator.
After the wood is cut to size it is immediately carried by 8 wood workers onto a truck to be sent to Jepara as wood craft materials and furniture such as carved statues, chairs and solid trembesi tables.

Astonishing video. This is an experienced team. The guy with the Stihl makes a perfectly flat cut underneath the tree (9:00-10:30), leaving it supported by its buttresses. Once the rear buttress is cut, the team pulls the tree over. No felling notch or hinge is needed, saving valuable material. The sawyer is careful to make the perpendicular cuts as perfect as possible. He gets his saw pinched at 15:00, but within a minute the team has levered the log free.
The ease with which these guys lift the big log into the truck is amazing. Trembesi is dense, about 600 kg/m3. That log could weigh 1000 kg. Each of the eight guys is shouldering something like 100 kg as they walk in unison up a pair of inclined logs into the back of the truck. Then they manhandle the log into a preferred position. That would be an accomplishment for eight American football players twice their size. And two of the guys are barefoot as they climb into the truck. They make it look effortless.
