This particular year VT was pretty damn good, they won the ACC beating 3 ranked teams along the way and playing in the Orange Bowl to cap it off. Stop trying to take away from what BSU accomplished in this game.
I know they lost to Nevada after all those missed kicks, but there is no denying that this was the best Boise team in school history, they deserved at least a bcs bowl berth that year, granted, tcu had a great year too, and if those two had played in 2010 it would have been easily the best game of the season, but I believe Boise would have won that game, they also would have won against Oregon in my opinion and given auburn a tough game. This team doesn't get near the credit it deserves.
yes boise state had a ton of bad plays, and totally let nevada back in this game, no denying that. I cannot deny that. but calling leaping? I have seen other teams violate that rule without getting called on it. but this, this was genuinely a crap call. it made quite a difference in the game as well.
Buck Futtler Boise State beat TCU 17-10. However in 2008, Boise State lost to TCU 16-17 due to a missed extra point. Boise State literally lost 3 games in 4 years by a combined 5 points.
I sure miss this BSU team. I don’t know if there will ever be a team like this at BSU again. With that said, I will gladly eat these words any year to be able to relive the beautiful years of Boise football that #11Moore gave us plus the years of Zabransky, Johnson, & the Cavender twins, never to forget the Oklahoma game in 2006 that pretty much set Moore & company up for the success they continued on with in 2007 forward. As BSU alumni, I had the privilege to be going to school there during some of these great years, and what a time it was. Looking back now I didn’t realize the phenomena that a school which has a top ranked sports team brings. I can tell you that there sure does seem to be a buzz, or a sense of being, hope & happiness to a college campus. It runs through every student, teacher, parents of students, the people & the entire city really. But on campus to us students that temporarily called campus home during this time (Chaffee Hall for me) there was something electric in the atmosphere that brought a sense of belonging or community between everyone. We all had something in common other than the school we were attending. We were home to one of the best college football teams. **If any kids ever read this that are thinking about screwing college, please don’t! Keep your grades up in high school so you can go to a decent school, find one that is right for you. You won’t regret college, even if you end up dropping out, I’m telling you it’s worth at least trying. And, if while your there something great is happening, for example a team like these guys, then you will understand what a great time it is. At minimum you’ll come away with a life experience that happens once in a lifetime.
I wanted to see y’all play in the title game . Doug Martin kellen Moore Austin Pettis Titus young all kinds of nfl talent and I don’t even know if any of them were 3 star recruits I looked them all up but didn’t see any of them as 3 star high school recruits
Beautiful comment. I was in elementary school during this era and your comment about the energy flowing through the entire city is 1000% correct. The ENTIRE treasure valley community RALLIED behind that team. Thank you again for leaving this comment.
I was in third grade(8 years old) when my family flew from Idaho to DC for this game. Our seats were lower level on the 10-15 yardline area right where Pettis caught the game winning TD. I was so short that I had to stand on my chair the whole game to see action. The enter sandman entrance is still the craziest thing I’ve ever witnessed at a football game.
Coming back to this game after the year boise has had makes me miss this era so much we didn’t realize how truly great Boise st was until we lost it under avoloss
awesome upload too bad Tech lost but this was a great game...man I miss Tyrod now if it wasn't for Tech's amazing defense we would have lost all of our games this season...
Boise State doesn't get enough credit. it's a crying shame. been a fan of the blue & orange since 05' and every yr they keep on playing like a heart of a champion
Any chance we can get the Boise St./Nevada 2010 full game up? not trying to be a hater or anything, but that is one of my favorite college football games of all time!
I hope Boise St applies for the Big 12 someday. I don't know how they don't get more people to come to their games...you'd think the entire state of idaho would come watch them with how good they are.
I really wish we wouldve had the playoff back in 2009 , wouldve like to have seen the 09 B.S. team or if they would not have lost due to field goals against Utah state those two seasons and made it.
@@brian2440You could argue that Tulane team of 1998 really was the beginning of the conversation, then those teams you mentioned afterwards added fuel to the fire. Now we have ourselves a 4-team playoff where we’ve had 2016 Western Michigan, 2017 UCF, and 2021 Cincinnati finishing with perfect records inside the top 10 but that Cincinnati team was finally the first one to break through, now we have a 12 team playoff coming in 2024.
As a hokie this is where I became mad.. having attended Alabama and this game...we couldn’t win the big games because 4th quarter game planning just sucked. Now I miss those days. Can’t make the top 25 if you choke the big games. Now we’re lucky to have a winning record wtf. Then it continued we lost every big game from then on until losing winnable games like ODU, ECU and UVA
I think they could, I don't think TCU is going to tear up the Big-12 in the first year but I think 5 years down the road they can and here is why: They have already proven that they can beat good teams (Wisconsin). Gary Patterson is still there head coach, its impressive the teams he puts together with the talent he is able to recruit. And finally, the Big-12 should help him get much better recruits, and having Nike Pro Combat jersey can't hurt either.
If Kellen More was 5 inches taller he would’ve been a 2nd round pick at worst. In college career stats he’s in the Top 10 for: - Completions - Accuracy - Efficiency - TDs - Passing Yards
Kellen Moore didn't get enough credit. Who won more college games as QB than him? He would have done better than Sanchez on the Jets. Any word on his future plans?
after this we got to watch a lot of BCS interconference bowls . Shame bsu had to lose a game or they could have played a Big Cash School . Oh wait they played Arizona riveting............
eh that wouldn't do it. Remember the argument Gee said is that TCU/BSU don't have to play a tough game each week. Everyone knows TCU and BSU can match up against anyone in one game but can they do it every week?
Biggest travesty in NCAAF was not giving Boise State in this span of about 3 years a shot at the title. And putting them against a fellow non-automatic qualifier TCU because they KNEW both BSU and TCU would have embarrassed their darling Floridas and whatnot that year--and that would have looked AWFUL for NCAAF as a whole. Terrible system.
Oklahoma in the fiesta bowl. This game against VT. Georgia last season. TCU multiple times in their great stretch of teams, one of which won the Rose Bowl the following season. Oregon Ducks twice, both times the Ducks went on to win the Pac 10 (12 Now). Oregon State when they were strong. BYU. If they're such an easy win for, I assume you're an SEC fanboy, then why don't they schedule BSU? I mean LSU is playing Idaho this season. They aren't shit. Why not BSU instead? It's called fear my friend.
This was the pinnacle of BSU football.
This particular year VT was pretty damn good, they won the ACC beating 3 ranked teams along the way and playing in the Orange Bowl to cap it off. Stop trying to take away from what BSU accomplished in this game.
Exactly right
This was my very first college football game that I attended. An awesome and memorable moment!
This was the first football game I ever watched tv or not
I know they lost to Nevada after all those missed kicks, but there is no denying that this was the best Boise team in school history, they deserved at least a bcs bowl berth that year, granted, tcu had a great year too, and if those two had played in 2010 it would have been easily the best game of the season, but I believe Boise would have won that game, they also would have won against Oregon in my opinion and given auburn a tough game. I can say with certainty that the refs at the nevada game were paid off with all the crap calls. and this is coming from an oregon fan, not a bronco
Don't blame the refs Emmett. I'm a boise fan, they blew a 24-7 lead and missed two kicks.
yes boise state had a ton of bad plays, and totally let nevada back in this game, no denying that. I cannot deny that. but calling leaping? I have seen other teams violate that rule without getting called on it. but this, this was genuinely a crap call. it made quite a difference in the game as well.
Emmett Cleere That kick catch interference call was a bit suspect too.
True, both were awful calls, but ultimately if brotzman makes that chip shot at the end of regulation it doesn't matter....
Kellen Moore was clutch in the final drive.
dude was two missed field goals and a fumble by his running back from being 52-1!
the TCU game in boise was a fumble at midfield up 7 with 2 mins left...
and TCU in the bowl game was 17 10. no field goals involved at the end of the game.
but i suppose goodale could have won it still...but not really his fault...if dude wouldnt have fumbled an easy carry, game over...
Buck Futtler Boise State beat TCU 17-10. However in 2008, Boise State lost to TCU 16-17 due to a missed extra point.
Boise State literally lost 3 games in 4 years by a combined 5 points.
went to this game, the beginning still gives me chills...

Love college football season at all levels: division 1, 2, 3, NAIA, JUCO, and High School. August-Dec the best months of the year.
I was in third grade(8 years old) when my family flew from Idaho to DC for this game. Our seats were lower level on the 10-15 yardline area right where Pettis caught the game winning TD. I remember watching this game when I was younger one of the best games I’ve watched
I like how VT fans were saying that they were going to just run over BSU.
I wish VT would rock those uniforms again!
Yeah!! The Nike COMBAT jersey's were the BEST!! They do need to make a similar one for them!!
Boise State made it their main helmets since 2012
Thems was hard
Classic game, remember watching this with my pops.
Me being a duck fan am so impressed with what coach Chris Peterson has done for this team.
Coming back to this game after the year boise has had makes me miss this era so much we didn’t realize how truly great Boise st was until we lost it under avoloss
thanks for posting this.. such a great game
you know what never in my 50yrs did i think id get to play u guys its a very cool exp ty
The best BSU game ever was the 2007 fiesta bowl!!! 😊 😊 😊
Allison Sessions beating Georgia in Georgia or beating Oregon at Autzen stadium
Niko Yochum i was at the one vs Oregon
Id argue the Georgia game
Stadium goes berserk at 2:47. Looking at one of the best entrances in college football.
That is what the hoklies do
who won though?
Started the game going berserk, ended the game with the L.
Then they lost to JMU in their next game. Lol Chokies.
Absolutely love the VT uniforms!
I love the crowd before the game...they are amped!!
How about thumbs up if you want to see BSU join a legitimate conference?
They were talks of the pac-12 2018 and big 12 after The 2014 fiesta bowl, wanting. Boise state but Harsin and all the politic crap got in the way
awesome upload too bad Tech lost but this was a great game...man I miss Tyrod now if it wasn't for Tech's amazing defense we would have lost all of our games this season...
Boise State doesn't get enough credit. it's a crying shame. been a fan of the blue & orange since 05' and every yr they keep on playing like a heart of a champion
thx for the video
Such a great game. BOISE!!!! STATE!!!!
Not a fan of either of these teams, but this gets me so pumped for CFB. only 7 days to go!!!
please put up a ton more games. I dont have cable and this is awesome to watch
Any chance we can get the Boise St./Nevada 2010 full game up?
not trying to be a hater or anything, but that is one of my favorite college football games of all time!
Wish kellen could have won a Heisman. He is currently the OC for Dallas cowboys. That loss to Nevada was brutal. BSU ! Pettis and Young are Glorious .
1:22:18, “IT WAS SAMFORD, they are supposed to look good!” Bawhahaha love it, so true…😅😂🤣
the ol' days
Great game!
208 STAND UP!!!!
I hope Boise St applies for the Big 12 someday. I don't know how they don't get more people to come to their games...you'd think the entire state of idaho would come watch them with how good they are.
the popularity and how serious college sports is in usa i wish we had in england
im only watching this for the sixth time. just so ya know
time
I love how they cut to break a wee bit too soon...
great game
New U Rising, Go Broncos!!!
Coolest football uniforms I’ve ever seen. Why VT didn’t stick with those?
I really wish we wouldve had the playoff back in 2009 , wouldve like to have seen the 09 B.S. team or if they would not have lost due to field goals against Utah state those two seasons and made it.
The playoff was literally created because of what the BCS did to Boise State, Utah, and TCU from 2008-2011.

@LaPersonaNonGrata
This was the only meeting between the teams in BSU history. At most, teams will play once per year (conference opponents).
not to mention a damn good georgia team
I absolutely agree, however, I dont think theres any question that Boise would have scored anyway
i was there and met k moore
How often does Boise St. play the Hokies, during a year? And vice versa.
At that time, Boise State had that anytime, anywhere mentality.
very good game
hell yeah!
I think that might only stop the clock during the 2nd and 4th quarter now.
They were boosting the shit out of bsu qb but look who's qb went farther
Salty
Will Baucom He got the chance to play but tyrod getting ready to be benched or cut.
Lol tyrod is trash and Kellen is offence coordinator for Dallas okay how's trash and beat your trash vt team.
If Kellen More was 5 inches taller he would’ve been a 2nd round pick at worst. In college career stats he’s in the Top 10 for:
- Completions
- Accuracy
- Efficiency
- TDs
- Passing Yards
Kellen Moore was the best player in college football at that point in time. I wonder why they are talking about him.
best BSU game ever...Hokie fans are out of their minds, the whole stadium was jumping
i was at this game!
oh man i miss tyrod
sorry but nothing beats the BSU-OU game. Arguably the best game in modern cfb history.
watched the whole ting
i was there and tech started slow but i think there was a bad no call at the end
Wasn't this a Monday Night game???
2:41:26 what did he say? 0.o
big fan of bsu wanted to go but i didnt
@Hitler1961 Yeah brother I was at this game. My first trip ever to D.C.
Va Tech needs to wear those Uni's again.
why is there someone in boise clothes standing on the vtech side lol i just noticed that
Kellen Moore didn't get enough credit. Who won more college games as QB than him? He would have done better than Sanchez on the Jets. Any word on his future plans?
Given the chance the big six conf schools have. Boise State would have been National Champs that year. Loaded with players now on NFL rosters.
Boise was ranked 3rd going into this game and were favored to win. How exactly were they underestimated?
Because everyone expected them to lose. Same happened in 2006, 2008, 2009, and 2011
i bet on bsu and won money, so I dont understand your foolishness. Guess you dont know anything about college football
I wish Virginia Tech would whip out these uniforms and wear them again for another game they are arguably their best
It's a shame Kellen Moore didnt get drafted!
Yessir
I was there
after this we got to watch a lot of BCS interconference bowls . Shame bsu had to lose a game or they could have played a Big Cash School . Oh wait they played Arizona riveting............
Just like Georgia, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma, and Oregon did twice?
Definitely they have better competition.or maybe arizona state...
Boise to the big 12 anyone else think it would be great?
Michigan state gone pop Boise is you out of yo damn mind
eh that wouldn't do it. Remember the argument Gee said is that TCU/BSU don't have to play a tough game each week. Everyone knows TCU and BSU can match up against anyone in one game but can they do it every week?
Boise state came in first in the game but 3rd in the acidemics
+Will Baucom Lol, why are you bringing it up during a football game. Are you a UW or a DUofI fan? It sure sounds like it
If you're gonna dog a team on their academics, at least know how to spell "academics"
DWDrummer I didn't notice that lol. Probably a 3rd grader
@jwawc that was not bs. he step out of bounds before your linebacker got him
2:41:28 " that's how we do motherfuckers" anyone else catch that?
Yea because the clock will only stop until the ball's snapped if it's under 2 minutes in a quarter
@Krugs34 do youtube converter into your files then change it into dvd format put it on an empty disk.. done, for free!
LOL 17:25 VA TECH DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR IN THE STANDS

Cindarella lives ladies and gentlemen. Dude, they're ranked #3 in the Nation. Maybe they're just a good football team.
Not sure how anyone could claim a team rocking back to back undefeated seasons, and going undefeated 4 times in 6 years as a Cinderella.
Once again .... Another good team underestimates boise state
He got signed. He's third string qb with the Detroit Lions.
Crazy that now he's the OC for the cowboys

Yes I'm talking about the Michigan fans.
On the long run that gave Noise St the 27 - 21 lead, there was a BLATANT hold not called by the reds. Just sayin
several facemasks not called on va tech...so whats your point. Should have been 47-30 fool
That would be targeting today 29:15
what did Mark May think ....they got lucky ?? bsu is the muscle da bcs won't acknowledge .
yes. on labor day
Could never tell who Brent musburger was rooting for.
but i still miss Vick for that matter
@runlikeurmuslim Hey. We are barely on ESPN anymore, so get a grip!
1:21:23 Someone CC for Lou Holtz lol.
