I've watched many build-a-rifle and tacticool you tube videos its a guilty pleasure when I cant actually practice my hobby. My day dreams usually float off to what part I'm installing next and how I can mix up my safe collection before my next range day. A creedmoor search brought me to your channel. I would like to thank you for the quality of your videos the insightful commentary, a just a degree of production quality and "smoothness" that's rarely delivered in this genera and community. Well done man, and thank you.
Beautiful rifle sir, i like how you explained why you used these parts over others, very informative. I live in Canada and just received my gun license(PAL) and will be building my first ar, cheers
Glad I came across your videos. The work you have put into your videos is great, the background music is good and is playing at a great level, intro music is awesome. I have to say your videos are put together probably better then any i have watched.
I stumbled across your vids and I'm impressed with your presentation, detail, and thoughtful knowledge. Utmost respect for you. Now I'm subscribed whether I actually build a 6.5CM or go with the Grendal, I'm here. You got another fan. Thanks.
Hi fifty. Yes. I believe with bipod and optic. Seemed like descent tactical type optic. They have name on receivers . He warranties his builds for life . I'm considering 224 val kyrie or ar 10 in 6.5. . Thank you for your help. Your builds are really detailed and nice.
+WesMerc thanks...Ive made the choice to only put out videos when Im happy with it so its NOT about quantity but quality and hopefully be different then the other gun channels.
I’ve built 2 precision AR’s, and I actually didn’t know there was such a thing as oversized barrel extensions. Never heard of anyone bedding a barrel in an AR that way either. Very cool video.
I am also a big fan of Aero Precision components. JP Enterprises trigger springs are an excellent way to go. I have a $50 trigger group with JP springs that feels almost as nice as my $150 Geissele, with a little precision buffing and polishing. Now I might have to build a 6.5 Creedmoor. Thanks a lot! Geez...
Im putting together a 6.5 creedmoor precision gun soon as well! I don't think the semi auto rifles get much love because of all the negative connotations they have compared to a bolt gun. Love the video!
Fitty% TACTICAL do you mind if I contact you via Facebook. I am trying to piece together a 6.5 cm and would really appreciate some pointers. Every time I ask for advice in FB groups, I get shamed by everyone.
That's a good looking rifle. Too bad the Aero Precision receiver set isn't available in 2020, the "pandemic period" (out of stock). I recently decided to step it up from the 308, to the 6.5 Creedmoor. The 6.5 cuts the wind much better, and it reaches out there a bit more. I simply made my decision at the wrong time. I'll likely go with a bolt action rig due to the lack of parts availability for AR's.
Great editing, explanation, and presentation. Dude where have you been. I look forward to more videos from you. I was wondering when you are go to do more of a review on the proof research barrel.
Really like your Video. Until I saw it I never really wanted to build an AR type Rifle but you really got me interested in it. Appreate you giving all the lowdown on your project.
This is VERY close to the one I’m working on. It’s nice to see other people using JP parts. How do you like the trigger? I love the silent captured spring, BCG combos in my rifles and will probably include their trigger in my 6.5
Strong presentation, Pro work! Did not know of the Burris xtr II 8-40 until seeing your video. Good price point & magnification? How are you liking it so far? Video review ;) On the fence, Burris vs Vortex. Thx for the great videos and info!
Yes. The stag arms 224 is the gun only 1200. . 1500 is custom built ,everything. That 224 valkyrie really looks promising. Thank you for your help. Ar 10 is 2000. In 6.5. Both heavy stainless mat match barrel. Thank you for the video
Nice build. I've built one rifle with Aero receivers and liked them a lot. I've got another set I'm planning on building into a 6.5CM similar to what you've done. Was the Aero upper pretty true when you started lapping it? I've not got a factory barrel to fit any uppers like I'd want yet so I may end up ordering one with an oversized extension to get that nice just barely press fit when I do this 6.5 build. Good deal on the bedding. I haven't tried that yet but I've heard it'll help squeeze a little more consistency out of a precision build.
This looks like a great build to me, but it's not complete without the paperwork. The proof of the build would be the shot groups on paper at distance with the ammo you selected.
I have to say, this video just convinced me to build a .308 platform AR. Great video! Did you consider using any other receiver sets or did you know you wanted to go with an Aero from the start?
+Cade Miller well the receivers were something I felt I could save some money seeing as the other components cost a bit of money...lol I looked at the other receiver sets and like I said in the video, I feel like the Aero set is the cheapest, best looking, best quality for the price you can get.

Ok I have a question 😅. I’m building an 18in ar cause I want to be able to reach out to 800 yards. The competition people on CZcams 😅 said that having a heavier bcg makes the recoil less? I don’t know the applications for a heavier bcg but it logically makes sense if you have a light weight bcg it would be less mass moving? So less recoil? I don’t know it’s like everyone has their own thing going on? So I just wanted to know from your experience with this build 6 years ago did the light bcg work the way you wanted it? I have learned so much about assembly from your videos. Thanks for everything you bring to the community. 😅
The more mass an object has, the more energy is required to move it. If you have a normal to lightweight gun a heavy BCG will be able to move the entire rifle easier than a lightweight BCG with the same gas system. I prefer to use lightweight BCGs with an adjustable gas system to tune the rifle. If a rifle is over gassed it will have more felt recoil no matter if the BCG is heavy or lightweight.
Hey bud, great video, and my zipper broke when I saw the rifle. I just finished my upper, but I’m looking to use some of your parts for the lower. I have an Aero upper and lower... where can I find the parts list for this rifle?
I really can't explain myself very well.On my RPR I have a three lug bolt. This goes inside the bolt carrier from your video and will have no problem. I hope.
hi im looking to build a rifle very similar to this one. would it be okay if i talked to you about your parts list? i have never built an ar10 before and i would like to know and have every part ready to order before i make any purchases so i know everything will fit. i cannot really afford to spend $200+ and end up with the wrong part.
wont bedding the barrel to the upper with the Indian head gasket make it impossible to replace the barrel in the future? not trying to sound like a jerk, just an honest question. I do like the rest of your build
damupr all you should need to do is apply heat to the upper receiver barrel sleeve with a heat gun for a bit and then you should be able to push or tap the barrel out of the upper receiver sleeve.
Dude. You put together a sweet ass rifle
Thanks, I think so as well.

Its the A2 rifle buffer tube. For the CTS buffer it's the .308 rifle version.

Precision requires consistency and I believe that the anti tilt AKTIVE Recoil buffers helps with the BCG cycle consistency.

The 6.5cm was made from .308 brass that is necked down to take the 6.5mm projectile. All .308 mags and bolts will work with 6.5cm.
what does the build weight without ammo? thanks
Roughly how much did you invest in this build? I just did an AR15 and went at $1500 without an optic so im thinking about doing this next
Well I chose a lot of high end parts in this build so you can definitely do it cheaper, but I think it was between $2500-$3000 without optics.
