I have learned something along the way in my life and I try to pass it on to anyone I have a chance to... "O feito imperfeito é melhor que o perfeito não feito." Which can loosely be translated to "It is better to do something imperfectly than not do something perfectly." I guess that is what you meant...
Agreed! And the embarrassment only ever lasts a moment. Usually people will look for a few seconds and then you're done. But you have your shot forever!
The lighting, the details, everything is just beautiful. You have a gift of giving small insignificant things a cinematic, artistic value , like you can make a piece of bread look so interesting and captivating . You + your lenses= unstoppable force of creativity. Keep going and improving girl
This is definitely encouraging me to just film on my own (and film myself) so I can take those shots that I've been wanting to get. But I think my greatest challenge is learning how to move and pose naturally. I've been trying to take portraits of myself (for practice) and almost all of them come out pretty awkward. I can imagine that taking a video would be even more so. LOL!
hahahaah i think tbh takng a photo would be more awkward then video bcuz it's mostly still but when taking a video i always try to follow this advice I once heard from a director 'give your actors something to do so it'll be more natural and less staged' so that's what I always try to do. I give myself something to do so that it seems more lifelike
I don't think I have the courage to spin like that in the middle of busy street, but it is encouraging to know that it is possible and that someday I'll be able to do it.
Thank you for this reminder. I still get self conscious about filming in front of people after 3 years but those shots are always worth it. I really need to remind myself of this. Love your filmmaking!😊
i love this and your philosophy behind why to just do it anyway, i completely agree and love that vibe of being driven by your motivation for the art, over the fear and self consciousness!
It may be awkward sometimes when you’re alone talking to just your camera, younger generations ok, but older generations don’t understand might think you’re crazy😂😅 but it’s really common nowadays, once get used to it, shd be👌🏼, most importantly is ignore others😜🤣
So many gems here. The filming in public is my trouble area at the moment but your absolutely right that they will forget about in once the moment has passed. I need to keep reminding myself 😊
love the video! Your videos are always really inspiring and make me want to try out different things! I'd love to see a video on colorgrading as well because I loove how your shots look! You have such an designt style and it might help other people like me exploring and finding their own styke!
Thank you Megan for the video and for your advices! 💛💛💛 Filming myself can be really embarrassing sometimes, when I really want to do a shot outside I can wait for minutes and hours to make sure anybody is there so that I can film myself. There are some shots I really would like to do in a crowd but my embarrassment just blocks me 😭. And during years I hated taking selfie because I felt insecure about my face on the photo I was only seeing the flaws, everything was a problem so I couldn’t appreciate how great the photo is. But since I discovered your channel, I challenge myself more , I try to go further, to dare more things and the results are so satisfying sometimes that I forget how embarrassing I was to film the video and it’s really supporting for the next! ✨✨✨ Congrats for 140k btw you deserve it so much !

This was very much needed. I just started my CZcams channel and trying to film shots outside the house sounds so daunting, but the reminder that there is no better time to film doing something then when you are doing it helps so much!
That's really important: Other people may watch you doing silly things (in their eyes), but they don't know you and very soon they will have forgotten you and what you did. Out of sight, out of mind .... Carry on, Megan ❤
Thank you for this Megan! I’m a beginner and I feel so embarrassed and shy filming out in public and watching this video was so educational and comforting :)

I love making practical special effects, but being onscreen ~ ugh!! No thanks. But I HAVE to do it now. Biting the bullet.
