- Written by Tim Spencer of the Sons Of The Pioneers this was a hit for that group and George Morgan in 1949. They both reached the mid 20's of the Billboard Hot 100, but Morgan's version went to number 4 in the Country chart while the Sons Of The Pioneers reached number 10. It was a hit a couple of decades or so later for Mickey Gilley. Here, Marty gives his usual polished performance of what is now a Country standard. Or Seeing that it was written by Tim Spencer, a Country AND Western standard.

Marty is one of the few, if not the only one, that could do a Sons of the Pioneers classic as well as they!
WOW
Wonderful version of a lovely song by the incredible Marty Robbins.
Surely one of the best male vocalists of all time.
From a 71yo Aussie fan.
No,THE best male vocalist of all time!
He was so talented and so funny.
Simply the best, whatever he sang, he was simply the best.

A great song by George Morgan, Jim Reeves and Marty could sing anything great
Marty is great and Jim Reeves does a fine version also and George Morgan is good too. But, would someone please put up the Sons of the Pioneers on this one?
Fabulous as always but have you ever heard the Jim Reeves' version ?
Yes, a very nice version. I like Connie Francis very much. Check out her singing 'Wishing It Was You' on youtube, that's a fantastic recored by her.
I like Connie’s version too. Will check out “Wishing It Was You”.
I think Marty and Jim Reeves are the two best voices in Country Music, but my favourite version of this song is by Dean Martin.....
Today's nasal whiners ought to be listening this for tips on HOW to sing.
