I have been listening to music for nearly fifty years. | know what I like and what I don't. In my humble opinion The Black Keys are a cut beyond the rest. I am an old man, but I still think this band is amazing.

I'm a massive fan of the black keys, but this seemed a bit lacklustre with Dan fluffing quite a few notes. They looked absolutely shattered.

Don't know what was going on with these guys, the lead singer looked like he was coming down off something and the drummer, it was as if he was fighting the drums.
Bad timing at the drums, yeah but I like it.

Patrick Carney is actually a decent drummer, he just often seems awkward playing with the whole band. If you watch performances of them as a duo he's a lot better.
I'm a little confused by his interpretation too.
***** well he's not, he said it himself, he's very average but he's a likeable guy and i wouldnt swap him. Black keys are all about catchy guitar riffs
***** he sucks big time, I know at least 5 drummers that are not even close to famous and kick he sad looking ass every day of the week, it is inexcusable for someone that acctually lives from doing this have not got better since fucking 4 years ago. He should do playback, honestly.
I like these guys, on record. They sound great but live... I can see the why the criticisms have validity. No soul, no expression, the drumming is child like and he vocals aren't great. Still, better than one direction! :D

They upped the tempo even more.
I'm not sure if they were trying to push and pull the tempo in a stylistic manner but unfortunately it just sounded scrappy - made me cringe!
They never really were tight live though, all there albums are just really we'll produced ( from brothers onwards )

Am I the only who thinks the rhythm section is all over the place in this version. They also seem to struggle in the Glasto 2014 video. The groove gets totally lost in the instrumental sections. Ruined a great song

Well I think the whole band knows that something isn't right about this from the very first note. It could be the bass that's out of tune, not much, but enough to ruin the feeling of the song for them.. And us
The timing on this is all over the place on this one and not in a good way
I'm pretty sure it's the drummer in this song who's out of tune. most of their live performances they sound great, but whenever they play gold on the ceiling i somehow get the idea the drummer doesn't quite keep up with the higher tempo they try to do here
He does man, he can't be that bad I mean he plays drums really long and has a great ecperience and ability of keeping in time, he just sound bad in Gold on the ceiling live because the drums are different than in the album version and it sounds weird to you

I love El Camino but I have to admit, there is something insincere about his band. Like there's no soul. Almost like an academic version of blues/country/bluegrass etc
