I listened to this song because i watched bohemian rhapsody. I never knew how much Queen influenced the music industry until recently. Theyre so iconic.
It bothered Freddie when people said he was a born legend, and his response was,"Everyone is a born legend they just have the choice to still be a legend."
Surely I'm not the only one who claps and puts my hands up in the air, when it gets to that bit of the song? This is a classic song, and one of Queen's best songs in my opinion.

I run a daycare from my home looking after six children and I play a lot of Queen for them. They love this song! I taught them all how to sing the chorus and do the clapping. I even showed them the live aid performance of it to show them when the audience claps. The youngest child I look after is 2 and she absolutely loves dancing to this. When Freddie sings “Radio someone still loves you” the little one will say “someone love u” 😂😂😂

I really like this song because he actually chose his words carefully and they ACTUALLY MEAN SOMETHING! Now a days they just have one paragraph and they repeat the same stupid words and they don't make sense! Sorry if I offended some people with the truth.
Skyrim115 Well it makes sense. Whats the most memorable part of a song? Typically the chorus, so why not make the entire song the chorus? It makes sense and is fairly effective.
Arumba08 And why bother to write more than just some meaningless words if you can repeat those words over and over again and become rich with nonsense.
Thanks for the video! Well done. I had forgotten about this song until I watched Bohemian Rhapsody a couple weeks ago. How true the song is. I think Freddy would be happy to know that radio lives on in new forms like podcasts and online radio shows and music. Also a new generation can find old classic radio shows online as well. Hope he is smiling.
When I was 13 I would sing many queen songs while I was home alone, this one was my favorite 😊 Now I'm older and live in a more urban area, I don't have many opportunities to sing.... But listening to this song brings back those amazing memories of being free to sing ❤️
This song has a lot of meaning to me since i grew up in radio. My parents owned two radio stations. Theres a lot of perks to owning a radio station. Advertising is very expensive. Companies that use radio to advertise their product or company, simetimes make trades with the radio stations. My sister and i got a lot of free concert tickets, free hotel rooms, free Las Vegas trips etc.. My dad would bring home 45 record demos by sometimes new singers or just new songs by known artists. We got to hear new songs before the public. We had to let our dad know whar we thought of the song to give him an idea of how often he should have it played and what time frame. (Younger listeners listen more late night than elderly)..we loved Killer Queen so my dad had the DJs play it every hour for the younger listeners..awesome growing up in radio!. ❤

I really like this one also!, Pretty sure that I never would have heard it if it weren't for GTA V. at any rate I'm quite confused as to what he is actually saying... Is he expressing ambivalence in his radio nostalgia? While most of the song sounds complimentary and affectionate, the words 'Goo Goo, and GaGa impress me as somewhat derogatory.... hmm... wonder if he might be making references to the infuriating commercial interruptions....
He might be indirectly slamming the music business which only allows music with the most mass appeal to make it to the radio. This usually means the same old themes and simple music that doesn't go over the listeners head or make them work too hard to find the message - "commercial" music is what it's often called. To a successful songwriter who knows how to simplify the music for mass appeal, commercial music is basically a collection of "adult nursery rhymes" - a perfect example of this is "Sweet Home Alabama" which repeats the same 3-note vocal phrase (and ONLY that 3-note phrase) 36 times in a row, with only a creative guitar solo to break the monotony. Since goo goo and gaa gaa are what babies typically say, this is how I'm interpreting it. BUT - it should also be kept in mind that not being absolutely sure of a song's meaning causes the listener to listen to it more often - BINGO, more record sales and radio plays. In the 70's, some FM rock stations frequently played entire album sides, not just the hit singles from that album. You'll never find that these days; every song must offer some assurance of mass appeal and generate huge revenues or it's quickly dropped in favor of a more universally accepted song. The music business once appreciated unique art, but now it's all about money.
