  • I've picked 4 of my favourite running kits, covering 4 different types of run:
    - short fast run
    - long easy run
    - windy Autumn run
    - cold Winter run
...and talk through the elements of each
Have you tried any of this kit? Or what's your favourite kit, particularly as we head into the colder darker months?? Let me know in the comments.
Let me know what you think of the video - the only way I'll get better is if I know what you like / don't like

I have not seen yet anyone positive about Nike socks :) nice clear video, good messages!

My main issue is that they don't seem to last as long as other socks - they feel great when they're brand new, but wear down pretty quickly

@@Jamies.Running I keep going back to my Nike socks even though holes do tend to appear quickly I agree. They seemed to have stopped doing the Elite Lightweight ones I like the most so been buying odd pairs can find on eBay. Will have to change to something else in a year or so I think.

I tried those Vibram 5 fingers shoes in a shop once but my feet are so narrow could only get 4 toes in so not sure those socks would work for me :) Interesting concept though. Don't they splay your feet more than normal though? I generally have a rule of thumb of wearing tights below about 5 deg C although might up that a bit if going relatively slowly. I like to use the Ron Hill bike type shorts as can get my phone, key and even sometimes a GoPro in the pockets and can still run without them falling down. Short shorts for the treadmill :)

I’ve never tried the 5 Finger shoes, the socks were easy to get on though, and definitely worth giving ago to avoid friction between the toes.
Quite difficult to find atm, picked some up on eBay recently though in our size 👊🏼

I love Vibram 5 Fingers! 4+ years... I won't be going back to "normal" shoes.

I know it has nothing to do with kits but how do you recommend building speed, this year I bagged mostly long runs and want to start speed training what should I do

A really good place to start would be to begin incorporating some speed / interval sessions. I really recommend the Moneghetti Fartlek - if you look back at one of my early videos (SPEED SESSIONS) I cover it off, a great way to start building up your pace
