    Huge thanks! I've been trying to solve part coloration for half an year now and only found a solution via "Journaling", which we don't have a license for. The next great thing would be making "Deformable part" work with Part families.

    Wow I love that they finally integrated the spreadsheet directly into NX! I worked a lot with part families at my internships and this is a very clean interface. Although I agree with Philip Carpenter, I used a ton of the excel formulas for creating part families thousands of members long, so, also glad to hear you can still access it via excel! I wonder though, did they improve the load times of opening the part family spreadsheet? When the part family was >2000 members in NX 10, it could take anywhere from 2-30 minutes to open, depending on the size of the spreadsheet. I'd be interested to test that out!
    Great video!

      Hi Matt, I haven't received an information concerning Excel load time, but I guess it is the same. And you should also decide to weather using Excel or the internal solution, because in the case of using formulars within Excel, the values can easily be overwritten within the internal NX table, which just visualizes the resulting value and does not calculate the formular from Excel. Thx

    Thanks! Excellent tutorial. How can i create a family of sketches? For example to use to create standard cutouts (for ex. when creating cutouts for wall mount connectors which depend on shell size)?

      NX offers a reuse library therefore. But the workaround is hardly explained by a comment. It's better to involve a consultant therefore (-:

    If I have several the Part Families in a part, for example If I have 2 the Part Families in one part and I have assembly and I want to create the Part Families in an assembly, than how can I use different the part families in an assembly at one part?

    There is still a way to go to Excel using the „Edit Spreadsheet“ correct? I use a lot of formulas in excel which control the part name as an example and use other excel functions like conditional formating and so on to guide the user and prevent mistakes. A very good look and feel though and something that has been needed for people wanting to learn more about part families but don‘t like dealing with excel. I was wondering when they were going to make there own UI for setting up the family table. Cheers!

      Correct, "edit via Spreadsheet" is still available for Excel Edit (-;

      and by the way... I am one of those, using PF just the simple way (-; But to be honest, since NX1899, I have the parameter tables in use as well

    Great video tutorials. May seem like a silly question but I notice in your videos when you click on a feature in the part navigator it quickly makes it the current feature. The only way I know how is to right mouse click and select make current feature. Do you have NX configured for this quick selection?

    • @Bizlearn_Siemens_NX_Training
      @Bizlearn_Siemens_NX_Training  Před 4 lety +2

      Hi Jonny, the left click option is an enhancement which came with the continuous release and not available in older versions. But it's really comfortable (-;

      You need to add a new column "Current feature" to the part navigator. Right-click an empty space in the part navigator, then select Columns and then select Current Item.
