What you call a tilt mechanism is actually a recline mechanism, tilt is suppose to be using the twisty thing under the front of the chair and it doesn't work! It's supposed to tilt but it doesn't.
Hi! Before I attached the base to the seat, I put the base on the floor (upside down) and then pushed the wheels in with a high amount of force. Make sure the wheel bolt is upright when pushing in and hopefully it will go in
been looking at this chair! your review is helpful I'm just curious, how is the pu "leather" wearing so far? I know its only been 4 months but I've had some good pu leather furniture with no issues for years and others that start to peel really fast.
Hi, thanks for the kind words! So I’ve been using it for around 8 hours per day so far and it’s holding up very well! No wrinkles, peeling, or ripping. The only wear I can see is extremely slight stitching coming off from the base where I sit but that’s probably from the pants I wear snagging into some stitching. It’s barely noticeable. So overall, I’d say it’s held up very well!

I read that the seat plate has a lockout feature, is there any way to lock the swivel in place so it doesn't rotate?
I just checked but don’t see any seat plate lockout feature! It maintains a standard position but swivels freely.
How long does it take for the smell to go away ?
I think it took around 2 weeks to go away
If I buy one, I'll be keeping in the garage to off-gas
