- The High Court in Pretoria is expected to rule today on the admissibility of a recorded confession by one of the accused in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.
The judge is conducting a trial-within-a-trial to determine whether the confessions made by two of the five accused are admissible.

I don't know about SA But in my country confessions are initialled in every paragraph and every page is fully signed. A declaration by the attorney is also signed and attached to the confession. You can't just say there was legal representation without proof. Attorney's declaration must be signed and attached with the confession

This woman said to have taken about or more than 50 confessions and statements..but failed to make a Ntanzi and his legal representative to put a signature as a proof of consent and that the statement was taken voluntarily....
So when she saw this man in handcuffs, how and why should she think it’s an ordinary person and not someone under police custody.

I totally agree. It's only in Africa where there's no such. In other countries, they have an interrogation room that has cameras and audio recording equipment.
In the US they have had that practice for years. I am not certain why this has not been implemented in this day and age in SA. It would resolve a lot of conflict, especially during interrogation of suspects and witnesses.

I must admit, I also thought that a confession to a commissioned officer was admissible. I didn’t know that the law did not place any weight on the rank, but that a confession to a peace officer (of any rank) can only be admissible if reduced to writing in the presence of a magistrate or justice. The said lawyer produced his Fidelity certificate and the appointment card as a proof the Violent Cronje that he's really a lawyer but her only mistake was that she failed to get them made copies for those copies to be attached to be attached to the statement like those of the three police officers.
