    Is there a better jump starter for the price? After doing hours of research I found this to be the best bang for the buck (including longevity).

    • @mpcp27
      @mpcp27 Před 3 lety +1

      I hear varying stories about longevity... in hot climates, people have reported the battery swelling and popping the case open.. and this is within a 2 year period... Thats one of the reasons that I haven't purchased . it's hard to pay $150+ for a battery pack that might be a problem in 2 years.

    • @many-points
      @many-points  Před 3 lety

      @@mpcp27 Good point. I think part of the problem with the battery swelling has to do with storing in a hot car. The owners manual says to store it between -20 to 50 degrees Celsius (-4 to 122 Fahrenheit) and never to exceed 80 C (176 F). Of course in a hot climate a car in the sun can get well above that. My current solution is to bring it inside if I know it is going be in a very hot car for extended time, but of course that is super inconvenient too. I'm planning to make another video in a year or so reporting how it holds up long term.

    • @mpcp27
      @mpcp27 Před 3 lety +1

      @@many-points ... Well one guy used to keep it in his shop not in the car and the battery still swelled. Now the shop didn't have AC, but I imagine that it wouldn't be as hot as the car trunk on a hot day. The thing is you expect these battery pack jump starters to be able to be stored in the trunk and not have to be removed during a hot day. That's going to result in it being forgotten somewhere when you need it..

    • @many-points
      @many-points  Před 3 lety +1

      @@mpcp27 Agree 100%. A product that is meant to go with you in the car should be able to withstand car temps, and certainly warm shop temps. Time will tell with mine.

    Great video, Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
    I bit of advice, if your battery keeps dieing, don't keep boostingnit, Just go out and buy another battery, eventually to many boosts to same dieing battery can damage your Alternator and or Starter.
    It happen to me, I kept boosting my Battery and eventually my Starter went and so did my Super Expensive Alternator at $800 🤦🏼‍♂️ Infiniti truck.
    I think it happens more when your battery is so dead it needs the full energy of the Novo battery pack and you have to depress the override button, that's some serious jolting powering going into your vehicle.
    Just a heads up to all 🙋🏻‍♂️

    Noco sells an auto charger for they’re charger , I was wondering can it over charge just by leaving it plugged in for weeks without the auto charger or if not weeks like 3 days ?

    • @many-points
      @many-points  Před rokem

      This GB70 jump starter should not be left on the battery but shoudl be taken off immediately after the jump start.
      However the NOCO Genius 2, 5, 10 chargers are designed to be left charging the battery indefinitely and will not overcharge it. I have separate videos for the other chargers you can find on my channel.

    • @many-points
      @many-points  Před 7 měsíci

      It's held up really well. I've jumpstarted about 15 vehicles successfully since I bought it. I've only had to charge it a two or so times the battery holds a lot of charge.

    Hello, a 12-volt bulb with a power of 50 watts works for how many hours on this device?

    • @many-points
      @many-points  Před 2 lety +1

      Not sure, I've only used it to do jump starts. In my experience it will do 20+ jumps on a single charge. Manufacturer claims 40 jumps.
      I would guess it would power the light bulb for several hours but honestly have no experience powering lights with this device.

    Great vid man!
    I have the NOCO GB40. In a period of 3 years I had jumpstarted about 5-6 cars in a single charge and it's still not out of charge yet. It's been in my car for around that period of time and didn't face any problem with it although I live in Kuwait and the temprature there is around 45-55 celsius in mid summer. (No kidding)
    I'm worried about the heat and the NOCO getting heated and probably blown in my car so I needed a case like this for protection.
    The GBCO13 case specified for GB40 is out of stock.
    Do you think this GBCO14 case would fit the GB40? As it's the only option available.
    Thanks for the vid again 👍🏼

    • @many-points
      @many-points  Před 3 lety +1

      No problem! Yeah since making this video I have jumpstarted 4 cars and haven't hard to charge yet either.
      So the GBCO14 case would "fit" the GB40 because GB40 is smaller dimensions than the GB70, but there would be room for it to wiggle around. If a tight fit isn't important than it could work, but the GBCO13 would be a better fit if you can wait.

    I have this GB70,,I got it because I wanted the 12v line out socket and it works fine,,, but the ripoff is the charging. You really need a mains charger which you have to buy separately. I cannot think of another product where you have to buy a charger separately .. apart from that issue ,its a good product..But the charging ussue leaves a bad taste after spending so much on the battery itself!!!

    • @many-points

      Agreed it's dumb, for that much money they should provide you a charger to go with it instead of having to try and find your own.

      Thanks for the comment. So technically this isn't a charger it's a jumpstarter so it's only intended to give enough boost to start the vehicle then you immediately take it back off. If you're looking for a charger I like the Genius 10: czcams.com/video/ACzRdSCU3EI/video.html
