FILM DESCRIPTION:
When drag queen Anthony (Hugo Weaving) agrees to take his act on the road, he invites fellow cross-dresser Adam (Guy Pearce) and transsexual Bernadette (Terence Stamp) to come along. In their colorful bus, named Priscilla, the three performers travel across the Australian desert performing for enthusiastic crowds and homophobic locals. But when the other two performers learn the truth about why Anthony took the job, it threatens their act and their friendship.

Guy was feeling this scene. Hugo and Terrence's faces are hilarious.
Hugo’s character was dealing with being a new dad and Terrence’s was a transwoman before being a drag. It’s understandable that those characters showed some exaggeration and even a bit of lack of confidence. That subtlety makes it even more genuine.

My silly little American self didn't originally appreciate that all of these costumes were celebrating the Australian national identity. Like no matter how much they were "outsiders", they were still Australian, and bloody proud of it. And it's beautiful. I cry every time.

Best costumes ever! Few people know that this film won an Oscar for best costume. Tim Chappel created incredibles visual references... a look that I carry inside my head until today.
I was seven years old and I saw the movie trailer on TV.The scene of the bus with the silver costume flying in the middle of the desert is memorable and it stayed in my heart!
I'd say second best only because this was the same decade where Eiko Ishioka did "Bram Stoker's Dracula" and her work in that film is jaw dropping in its iconic imagery but what was accomplished in "Priscilla" is equally iconic and unique.
i simply adore this movie know it word for word and yeah superb acting directing writing producing music and the (Mitzy voice_) FABULOUS costumes an Oscar much deserved

To me this is a Masterpiece. Touching and very moving great story line, it almost brought me to tears several times. Than the costumes, how beautiful they were made and then the actors. They were fantastic. Playing those characters so good. This movie deserves the title Masterpiece easily in my book.

When I'm having a bad day I watch this video and it pulls me right out of it, the lip sync at 2:18 absolutely murders me everytime.
I've seen this so many times, all for Hugo. He gave 110% to this performance and it's freaking hilarious! I love him in this so much.

One of the best...or even THE BEST movie ever. You can feel how much love each single person put into making this Jewel of movie history. I can't recall how many times I watched Priscilla already, but I know there will be many many more days or nights when I push PLAY and go on a Journey with Bernadette, Mitzi and Felicia ❤
When film gurus talk about hundreds of millions to create films where everything flies through the air except creative intelligence, I remember Priscilla, her simple plot, her modest wandering through that desert that we ourselves are, the few pesos, hard, pennies that it will have cost, the quality of its protagonists, the choice of an unmissable musical band, and that talent of the director who subtly takes your hand and takes you for a walk through everyday emotions.
How little life lasts and how little fun we have ...
Beautifully, poetically put Oscar. Thank you for articulating so much of what i feel. Budget doesn't determine a great movie. Originality, passion, great writing and performances are what really counts and Priscilla has all that in spades.
What a fantastic film - doesn't matter your orientation, it's a superb piece of cinema.

A was then just a small lad still inconscient about the the sexuality and got completely obsessed with Priscilla. Used to watch almost everyday in my 9-11 years. In my inocence, i then still could not understand the "paedo uncle bit" (Dieu merci!) And mostly this weak reaction of the audiência. Poor mum never invented me some lame answer . Probably she was still in that fase of "i've got to accept him the way Charles Darwin sent me, aftee 500.000⁶⁶⁷⁴ monkeys had made whoopie before... "

I watch this clip at least once every couple of weeks. All 3 did AMAZING work. Hugo, bad guy from the Matrix franchise. Terence, The Butterfly Collector. Guy, Memento. Now, put the trio in drag. Just FABULOUS 🤩! I fall more in love with this movie each time I see it!

Im from Europe but had luck to grow up with lot of aussie tv series on our national tv, return to eden, mclouds daughters, packed with rafters, h20, the family in lighthouse show, the girl from tomorrow and many others.. just awesome!
