KIDS REACT #125 - VCR - Zábava
You missed one of the key things about VHS tapes. You have to spend 5 minutes rewinding it every time you want to go back to the beginning.
That is the best part! You get to either wait looking at the blue screen or timer or you rewatch the movie at mega speed backwards :D
Xd have a nice day
Hahah oh god yes. xD
Its faster if you go to the blue screen and rewind it! Haha
"Be kind, please rewind :)" I liked that too *****. Unfortunately when I was a kid, I found it didn't show the timer unless the tape was 3/4 or more through. Also rewinding it with the video projecting actually wears out the tape faster. However, after saying that I can never get tired of watching Jabba's sail barge exploding in reverse from "Return of the Jedi". XD
I was thinking the same thing!
I just realized that VCRs are somewhat old to little kids... that's my childhood right there.
Alex B these kids have no clue how it used to be.
I know right I can't believe they never even heard of it. I remember growing up with VCR's and I have all the old Disney movies such as Cinderella and 101 Dalmatians and films such as that, so now I got to get them all on DVD.
Alex B ya VCR's BETA max and Laser disk.
Burning Ember I just find it funny like they haven't seen or heard there older family members speak of it I was gone when he was like its to much work like no kid I found the flap of the VCR player so fun
I know how to do all that and I'm 13
"This is more complicated than a DVD."
Oh come on. You put it in and press play. You don't even have to wait for a tray to come out.
ohhhhhhhhhhhh my, how naive you are.
unless you're being sarcastic, in that case, nice one.
You forgot about rewinding it.
@@Bismuth09 that depends if it wasn't already rewind
Honestly you're right, its not that hard to operate a VCR, i see your logic
For my vcr you don’t even have to press play
I still have a Lion King and Fantasia VHS tape and a VCR to watch them whenever I bake or want to relax. I could get the DVD's, but there's something nostalgic in the fuzzy quality of the VHS.
Yep my wife does her workout tapes every week we have around 20 tapes for her to do
Seriously? I'm 15 and I had all my movies on VHS. Star Wars, Aladdin, toy story, beauty and the beast... Ugh the memories.
IsThisRealLife yup
Wakko’s Wish... *cRIES*
Wow, now you're 20, I wonder if you see this again....
Lattae MiniKookies I did indeed, I’m actually about to turn 21! Sophomore in college!
yep
You knew you were going to have a great day in primary school when the teacher brought in a trolly with one of these on it
Ooo yeah, those were the days :')
We watched the Simpsons :P
I totally remember my teacher wheeling it in and watching the lion king newly released on vhs!!! Awesome day for the class! Gawd I'm old! Lol
Yes!
My school still does that (;
"Please be kind, and remember to rewind" - RIP Blockbuster
xD indeed
Yay 200 likes \o/
Correction it was “be kind rewind”
rips indeed, I loved going to Blockbuster.
I can't belive VHS is seen as old school now. I'm 20 and remember buying vhs tapes all the time in the early 2000!
Im 32 and I miss those days of buying and renting vhs and dvd. I miss hollywood video and blockbuster. I know I responded to a 5 year old comment lol.
@@RetroGaming_07 Same, it made movie night more of a family thing than now. Now its more like everyone watches stuff online lol
They should made in the early 2000s also.
@@RetroGaming_07 it's alright chief

Maybe in 20 years you guys will be doing "Kids React to DVD"
or tomorrow
DVDs are already obsolete
Kid rect to ps4 or xbone
And 50 years after that "kids react to netflix"
Andreas Harris Those "next-gen" consoles are already becoming outdated (no 1080p 60fps in most cases).
Kids who are about 13/14 are lucky, because they're the last of the kids who grew up with older technology. Then flip phones got popular, and the Wii, then it escalated.
I'm 12 and I had a vcr till I was 7
I remember watching Barney on VHS tapes I am 12 now.
I am 15 and I still have my VCR and my game boy advance since I was 5-6 years old !But still the wii was very revolutionary when it came out!
So many movies I watched, strike that, every movie I remember was on a VCR. I'm 14 btw.
Mega Quagsire i 15 now, and I used vhs's until i was like 6 or seven lol
I laughed so hard when the kids went 'A really old tv' I was like hey I had a tv like that 😂
I have 4 of them including 3 vcrs then I moved so now I hve cable Google TV and 4 laptop Also 5 phones
Kathrine Chau because one is not enough
That TV wasn't even that old, I have one just like it and I'm 13.
Kathrine Chau Why would you need 3 vcrs...??? are you going to watch 3 movies at once!
RockRebel Its the same tv they have at my school
I'm 14 and VCRs are part of my more younger childhood memories like watching land before time movies then my mum gave away the tapes and we bought them all on disk
Seriously these kids…
The first time I watched Titanic it was on a VCR. I remember the day block buster closed… saddest day of my life. We rented everything from there 😭
my family too! We got ALL our movies from there! 2 days later we are going to pick up a movie block buster shut down :(
I cried when I saw the "Closed" signs.
I was devastated when blockbuster closed too! I used to get this puppy movie on vhs and play station games xD
now blockbuster is in our own homes 24/7
I went to family video. All of the family video stores in our area are Dollar General. Rip to both of them.
40 years from now kids wont know what a dvd player is either lol
Well, it turned out to be 5. All thanks to Netflix and disney+
Dvds are almost obsolete, their quality is absolute crap for today's standards. We have Blu-ray, 4K and even 8K, how can people still buy something that plays at 480p/570p?
@@TheStOne1 , DVD's and music CD's are almost obsolete and old fashioned, thankfully.
Mrlag 49 , what are you talking about? A lot of kids today don't even know what a DVD player is. I threw my DVD player out 15 years ago, in favor of an HD Blu-ray player. A few years ago, I upgraded to a 4K (ultra HD) Blu-ray player. Eventually, they too, will be obsolete when they come out with a completely solid state video player.
They will not know movie theaters!
"It's a VCR and it's really hard to set the clock." This kid knows everything
javis88h I forgot that part about VCRs but so true!
It's not that hard to set the clock
@@Retrogamershaun I guess it depends of the model
Well I was able to set the clock without any problems and I was born in 1997.
My VCR remote had a lcd screen on it. You could set the clock on the remote and then transmit it to the VCR. You could do the same with the timer settings. Not bad tech for 1992.
Like the argument "it's more complicated". You put it in and there goes. Complicated indeed.
Yes while in modern times we have press lots of buttons now truly easier then back in the old days
@@tommynava3065 and before that, you turned on the Television and turned the dial to the station you wanted
168K23 set, still have it stored away I believe
Yeah but u don’t have to rewind.
I agree with around 80% sure most of it is very simple but it isn't so simple when your VCR turns into an MG34 chambered with the innards of a VHS tape
Just imagine 10 years from now, they will be doing kids react to iPads😂
Lol
The best Viner same and I was born in 2002
LloydieLynn XD
xD
Tafara Mapiye me too
What makes me worried is that in another 10 years, kids might not know what a dvd is....
Why would that make you worried?
blurays and dvds are outdated even now these days you watch streams.
Because then I would feel even older and closer to death...
***** Blu ray is still probably the forefront of technology considering it now has 4k capabilities. Streaming 4k is a nightmare for everyone with a normal internet speed. Dvds are slowly dying though
00Grunk "Ohh so this is like an old hologram machine, right?"
Who remembers the white screen at the end of 1980s Columbia Pictures, Universal and Paramount VHS's?
Me.
@@1954gar dedyo
Have these kids never seen a movie or TV show from before 2010? That's how earlier generations learned about older technology.
I still have a VCR and watch Aladdin, The Emperor's New Groove and The Parent Trap (Lindsay Lohan's version) on VHS!!! #GOODTIMES :D
That does sound like a good time!

The emperor's new groove was my jam

They'll say wow! These things are weird
TheFlyingSkarmory higher quality SD chips maybe?
dplox No, internet streaming will ve the new thing (netflix...)
"Wow you actually HAVE TO PUT THIS THING INSIDE OF THIS BOX? Complicated. When using Netflix, I just click on the movie I want to watch. Simple and easy."
I'm 17 years old and I remember these when I was growing up... Feeling old yet?
I'm 14 and I know all these remember the floppy disk?
I'm sad that no one remembers these. I love VCR's and VHS's. I want to keep all the ones that we have so that I can look on them in twenty years.
I'm 15 and I remember these :( and yes, I feel old XD
14 and remember
I am too 17 and I used to watch movies etc alot with VHS
“Nobody would die if we had these thing today” But we still have them today
Even Red Dwarf has them

BlueButterfly Right?
Ikr when they were trying to put the tape in the VCR I was yelling "THATS NOT HOW YOU DO IT YOU UNEDUCATED SWINE"
Also, if you rented a tape, you had to rewind it all the way to the beginning when you were finished with it for the next person who would rent it. Thank goodness we don't have to do _that_ anymore...
Be kind, rewind.
*hive fives *****+
lol i never bothered doing that #rebel
Stuart Gibbons same lol
At least scratching it didn't mess it up.
well, at least a VHS cannot force you to watch lame splash screens every single time like a DVD does.
And they said it’s harder than DVD’s. Puh, all you do is put in the movie and don’t do shit for 2 hours, unless people need to piss or eat. And when you put the tape back in, it continues where you left off the last time you watched it, no matter how long it’s been.
Cmon I'm 14 and I remember VCRs. I even have one in my room but it doesn't work anymore. I don't understand how most of them didn't know what they were.
monstertruck611 I had one like that too like 3 year's ago in my room but now I don't anymore. It was an awesome TV for having that in my opinion.
Same!
I'm 11 and know what it is...
Gabriela Sandoval That means YOU'RE AWESOME! :D
BlossomGoesGaming I have an old VCR from the 90's and in my closet theres hundreds of VHS and I would love to watch them especially the ones where there's old videos of since literally before I was born to when I was like 10 years old but I can't because I don't have the cable that connects the VCR to the TV.
I feel old now. I was a kid when VHS tapes were still very popular but DVDs were starting to catch on. I remember getting a combo VCR DVD player
Thats what I have, though I rarley use the DVD part.
OMG I still have the combo in my room hahaha
So do I. That was the transition period.
Ah the combo :')
I still have a DvD and VCR combo
I still have a vcr in my room to watch all of my movies??? These aren't THAT old c'mon 😂 someone needs to expose these kids a little more lol
why? they're outdated
Not really
they aren't *that* old however technology has gotten a lot more advanced within just one decade.
I still watched VHS's until 2004ish, which is about when we got a DVD player. However, we still watch VHS's.
I agree
This is crazy. I'm 16 and I'm starting to have that "feeling" of how kids these days are so young. You know that feeling!!
The interviewer didn't mention anything about the fact that after watching a video, it was requested that you rewind the tape before taking back to the video shop. Also, to find a certain part of the film, none of this 'scene selection' existed, just good old fashioned fast forwarding and rewinding!!
yup I remember :)
Drumming Spain They mention it in the bonus clip video.
Drumming Spain yeah I know, I was wondering about the same when I saw this video.
I thought they were going to hand them a tape queued at the credits and make them rewind it. Missed the ball on that one.
be kind rewind. :)

O.o cds are more complicated. I understand how a vhs works, but have no clue on how cds work lol.
At least with vcr tapes you don't have to worry about scratches :D
Twinflame Byond when they are made with a "burner" the light causes tiny pits on the surface of the disk. When the laser from a cd/bluray player hits the disc it then transcodes the data. Or something like that.
Indestructible, maybe. But they also were a paradise for cockroaches, and I will forever be traumatized from the day my cousin threw a roach-infested VHS tape at me so many years ago..

MuhamadAli Chavoshi it is maybe old but don't their parents or brothers/sister(that is over 20) tell them if they did not well there is a problem without making them know that makes them not to know how to appreciate it and without it there will be no CDs or recording
How did you not mention that you have to REWIND the videos??
Kathleen Turner is pissed off about it
Whilst we got to work rewinding, we would converse of the part we just watched or movie before putting it away so it was still fine at this

How do they not know what a VCR is? Movies were still being made by VHS in the early 2000's. I still have mine and it works well.
Because they are 8 years old
Still, there are 8 year olds who know what a VCR is.
C Ali Cool. And what can they do with that knowledge?
I new what a VCR was when I was 8
***** I said early 2000's though. Not just 2000.
I grew up watching VHS tapes and I never knew that the more you watched it, the worse the image gets. I guess I just never noticed when I was younger.
It depends on vhs player. If it is good, or one of the last it will never make your vhs worse. My uncle had samsung vhs. It was bought at 2002. And it newer make my vhs worse. I cansay it becouse i watched taped disney cartoons with donald duck a lot, a lot of times. I was happy then. It was vhs with 6 hours of disney, and 2 hours of tom and jerry. And first thing wich i did when i was in my uncle house watched this vhs tape.
It's really not as bad as people say. I collect VHS tapes and I have quite a few that are from the 80s and they were used as rental tapes, so I'm sure some of them have been watched over 100 times, but they're still totally watchable.
The quality's really not as bad as people say either, although this depends a lot on the particular tape. I have some tapes that seriously look like they're in HD, I doubt you would be able to tell that they aren't digital.
VHS is nowhere near HD. Or SD either. The measured resolution is approximately 320x480 which is HALF of standard definition. (DVD is 700x480.)
Tapes don’t really wear out. Someone did a test of tape playing 1000 times & it still looked as good as new. The tape is made to be smooth & so are the playback heads.
I still have some tapes I recorded way back in 1988 that still play perfectly like the day they were recorded! Except for momentary damage in places where the tape got 'eaten' of course.
I'm 13 I grew up with this thing but I think my brain just faceplamed itself along with this *faceplam*
i was waiting for a kid to ask if its an xbox one
The VCR was too small to be an Xbox One.
Yeah, not sure what the designers were thinking.
if they were thinking to make a big box to put allot of hardware into that would be smart, but they ended up with a big box and thats it.
TheCuffufle XD wtf dude nice conclusion
You beat me to it hahaha
VHSs still last longer than DVDs. At least they never freeze.
yep, i have loads of vhs at home, some of them dates back of at least 20 years and they still play great. only thing that makes me mumble is when i forget to rewind my tape then want to watch it and either change movie or take the time to rewind it. The only time a vhs would be ruined is if it gets stuck inside with the film stuck.. while if you scratch your dvd, you are screwed. I been watching many of my vhs movies in the last 2 weeks.
Yeah but sometimes they get stuck and the tape just explodes in it and it tKes forever to get it out and wind it up again
No one uses DVDs anymore.
I lost everyone I had during the time I used to live in Manaus, Amazonas due to moisture. So sad. :/
And it always knows where you last stopped the movie even years later xd
VCRs were still a thing in the 2000s. How do they not know about this? :\
Most oft them Were Borne in 2004 vor something and so they are maybe too young...
***** They were born from about 2003-2009. VCRs stopped being popular by 2003/4ish but completely died by about 2006/7ish so they won't remember
Yh I remember myself using those like 10 years ago. We had a whole box full of VHS tapes, we ended up selling them all on a jumble sale.
true!
Same we used to have one but it broke when I was about 5 or 6
Every other kid: That's an old TV.
Lucas: You guys are gonna break that and it won't be my fault!
This is why Lucas is my favorite.
Oh god this generation...
***** Says the cod fanboy
***** that double-comeback though
TicTacPvP Minecraft thats a BAttlefield picture actually sooo
Rhialisse Xavorin
I'm 13 and I still use the VHS. I watch Scooby Doo (1969) on it.
***** Says the guy who is white.
is it bad that I still use my VCR and watch VHS tapes? I kinda love the poor quality and watching them is very nostalgic. Obviously I use CDs, netflix and all that jazz, but once in a while its nice to pop in a tape and watch a good movie.
I still watch VHS. The Brave Little Toaster speaks to my soul.
Be kind & please rewind!
Else you're getting a fine!
Tjoppie FTW Oh, and turn it in on time.
But do not whine
Unless you're a pineapple
Well I don't find my controller fine
Being able to record a TV show and watch it later was an amazing thing back in the day.
When I was little, I had a boat load of Barney VHS tapes. Yeeeeeessss...
Me too!
Same
Me too
Omg sameee
BeatlesandWebkinz When I was little, I had a butt load of orange Rugrats tapes.
Who else blow on the tape if it didn't work xD or in the vcr x)
Blew* xP
Yeah inside the vcr. That habit came from blowing in my game cartridges from my snes and N64 lol
_ Ryo _ hahahahh yeah i did the exact same too xD i had them all....an amazing childhood ^-^
I think your getting confused. It was the Nintendo 64 you do that with
Ah, memories.
Wow, this made me feel old despite the fact I'm a teen! XD I used to watch stuff on our VCR all the time, and we still have our cassette tapes.
Now that I think about my cassette tapes and some of the stuff I watched, could you do kids react to Wallace and Gromit?
Wallace and
Gromit was literally the best show ever XD I still have the collectors edition dvd
Same xD
Doaa Abulebbeh i was born when these were at their peak and I remember having one. I used to watch Thomas the tank and Disney movies on it.
im 14 , i was kinda poor so i used to record power rangers & shit so remeber it too xD
Same
Nothing can replace the wonderful feeling of plopping in a tape and hearing the tape being puled out the cassette and the head spinning up
And if it didn't come out, you knew what it meant 🤣
Having the tape get twisted around the coils wasn't fun
Till 2009, we went to BlockBuster to rent movies. BTW I LOVE PARKS AND REC!!
***** Ikr!!
SmileyFaceChamp We still have Blockbusters in Mexico :P
Anyone remember gamecrazy or family video?
Parks and Rec? Please, and thank you.
The Rugrats VHS was orange.
I can't take these kids seriously
You should have them react to Windows '95! Great episode btw!
They would have more torture with Windows XP.
Or maybe you could have them react to playing games on Vista with Windows Live.
MUAHAHAHAHA!
greenday9090
Oh god, the horror
Windows 95 with AOL dial up. :-)
Windows 8 is worse
SO DEPRESSING! that's my childhood!
sydliz10 No you're not, You're 18, They're like 30 years old... Learn your facts.
Tic PvP It's*
@@ticpvp3264 I think now they might be 41 years old (they were made in 1979 I think)
@@ticpvp3264 how do you know shes 18???
This was painful to watch
***** Because no one knows history and 90s/2000s kids grew up with this technology
The Brick Spot truth!
Nope, it wasnt.
Who cares...?
I just don't get how clueless some of these kids can be. I was born in '88 but as a kid I still knew what a record player was, I knew what an eight-track was, I knew what a Betamax was, I knew what an Atari 2600......even though they were all before my time and my parents didn't own any of them when I was born.
Do these kid's parents never talk to them about their past?
Did anyone like use to open the inside of the video cassette ad fiddle with the strips then fix it up again by twisting a pencil inside them 2 white holes ? xD
Yep. Sometimes I had to do a repair job on it
My mom used clear nail polish to fix tape reels that tore
Always!
I did. It was actually fun
alucardarcula 18 I wouldn't say It was fun, but done out of sheer boredom
its sad how I'm 15 and I remember watching VHS tapes when I was little ( Mary Kate and Ashley, Dore the Explorer ,Barney, Goosebumps, Jimmy Neutron the Movie, Power Rangers and other shows and movies)
I still have a VHS at my houseAlso I remember going to a movie store to rent movies ( VHS or DVD)
Ikr
Same
RushersUnite101 sad for them, fun for us!
But you grew up in the dvd days
Yep same for me
1:16 “my favorite show Teen Titans Go” god I feel bad for that kid.
At least he knows what a VHS is
Nowadays little kids are experts at using their iPads. Back when I was in pre-k and elementary I was an expert at using VCRs to watch Scooby Doo and Casper.
Holy crap, I remember that!😲
ok boomer
@@skywishr1313 bruh i wrote that 7 yrs ago, i was literally 15 when i wrote that💀
@@skywishr1313 are u a bot lmao

I still have a vcr, is that bad?
I have too!!😁
Nope, it just means you're awesome!
totalcodehero
Yep, unfortunately I'm not cool enough VCR as mine died some years ago and never was replaced
i have one in my room, never use it though
i have like 4 vcrs
Damn, the fact that this is 8 years ago baffles me. I was using a VCR for TV up until 2014 when Charter went digital. I'm 18 now and we still use our VCR for movies. Mainly a lot of our old Christmas tapes.
Real I'm 16 and grew up on vhs as well. We didn't even get a flat screen tv and dvd player till around the time this video came out💀
In The Year 3015:

3015? That's quite a bit of time.
It'll be sooner than that. Trust me.

Same I was like "guys its not complicated" 😒
Same. I was born in the year of 2002 and I remember that there were players that had a DVD/CD reader with a VCR.
Kids react to books
Eli Nathan good idea
Probably 20 years later, yeah.
Kids react to air
Kids react.
I know what a book is.
I'm twenty and this just made me feel old.
ur twenty five now :)
@@user-xr1er7jn2j i’m 20 almost 21 and I still use the VCR till this day. And I love the argument when that kid said. It’s more complicated than it looks. All you have to do is put in the tape rewind it, then press play. Problem solved😂
