"What's with these homies dissin' my girl?" lyrical genius.
Why? Is it a joke or serious? I thought it said kissing lol
I think it's referred to Buddy Holly's Puerto Rican wife not being accepted
A vocabulary that does not fit the lyrics of a 1950s song.
@@davidb2206 huh
@@davidb2206 The whole video was retrofitted from the 90s back to the 50s. Arnold's interior was recreated and the footage from Happy Days was edited in with the latter footage of the band. So yeah. Watch out for those anachronisms.

P.s
In case anyone cares, there were two reasons why I thought my comment was cool lol. I’m from 95, so these era’s are not my times, but I think it’s awesome that we got to travel back in intervals of 20 years, and get to see the peak of each decade’s culture. The 2010’s, CZcams. The 1990’s, music videos. The 1970’s, television. And the 1950’s, Americana. Very trippy to me how it all linked together in a weird, youth culture way
This was their ultimate goal.

For many if not most in Generation X, this was the FIRST music video we ever saw on a computer screen, since it came on a CD with Windows 95. And that's for all of time!
I still have the original 95 installation disk.
The best OS ever from the time before billy boy went de-pop crazy
As a 12 year old in 1995, it took me about a year and a half to realize that weezer was in fact NOT a band from the 50s that happened to be in a sitcom from the 70's and for some reason ended up on the win95 installation disk.
I think the reason it was bundled on win95 disc as an "extra" was to demonstrate an example of high quality video playback. I definitely remember playing this repeatedly and it just being neat to see a music video on my computer. Around those times seeing any video on a computer was usually from a CD ROM and low quality, and we certainly didn't stream or download videos from the web very much.
Same. I also thought Nirvana was from the 50’s because of the In Bloom video. I didn’t realize they were the same band that did Smells Like Teen Spirit until one of my buddies gave me a tape of Nevermind.
Same! Listened to this a lot on Win95, and Edie Brickell - Good Times.

happy 30th birthday to the blue album
There is something weirdly hypnotizing about this song, I don’t know what it is but it puts me in a certain mood where I don’t know if I’m happy or not?
For me I feel a kinda bittersweet nostalgia. The video is nostalgic of happy days from the 80s which is nostalgic of the60s and the lyrics reference buddy holy from the 60s. Even weezer's sound is sort of a relic from 2000's which has its own nostalgia.
