Possibly a dumb question but can you lightly sand the candy painted base coat with 1000+ grit before doing the clear coat to take out some small blemishes in the finish? Or is it better to just sand the clear coat after?
No, directly sanding candy2o is not recommended as it will show the sanding scratches in the final finish, to which spot-repairing is more difficult compared to pigment-based colors as candy2o dyes keep building to a darker value. Thank you.
Is there any other clear coats that you could recommend that doesn't cost over 400 bucks? lol im just a small time hobbyist that just works on model cars.
The first Blood Red disc's base is Wicked W360 Metallic White Fine mixed 1:1 W360 Metallic White Coarse, applied over 6001 AutoBorne Sealer White. The second disc's base is 6013 AutoBorne Silver Sealer. Thank you. www.autoborne.com
