That is a pretty sweet binder. I never understood the misprint/error market. I can see there being desire for misspellings or missing stamps but the miss cut or packaging errors just come across as a ruined product so I can’t wrap my mind around the desire or value for them. To each their own but I can’t understand it.

Also I was unaware Carmine was an expensive card, I managed to pull it and I remember thinking "Wow, that looks straight out of an anime". Lots of good arts in this set in my opinion. I was fortunate enough to get the eevee, chansey, and growlithe art rares, So I'm pretty satisfied. Nice video!

Maybe the seller's hoping it's a very unique item and that maybe some error collecting whale will come along. It's pretty cool but I think error/misprint cards are cooler than error packaging.

Sports Cards have 1/1's. Pokémon TCG doesn't really have the equalivant outside of maybe tournament cards and like the Katy Perry & Post Malone cards. So Pokémon Collectors fill this void with graded slabs with low pop counts and error cards. Sport card 1/1's usually fetch an okay premium, so it's probably being quasi adopted from other established collecting hobbies as a reference point.
I like errors but it really depends what the error is. I don’t care at all about packaging errors. If the error isn’t on an actual card then who cares? Even then, most crimps and miscuts are pretty meh. I like the really wild stuff. Blanks, crazy miscuts, twisted miscuts, inclusion errors, ink errors, all that kind of stuff. The stuff that’s actually rare and unique. Crimps and OC cards are a dime a dozen. Who gives a fuck about an alignment dot?
There's Levels to Pokemon Degeneracy.... You got the regular "binder bros" just collecting for fun. You got the investor just collecting booster boxes and sitting on cardboard for 10 years. You got the slab snobs that only collect 10''s. Then you got these special kind of stupid people that collect "black label" and willing to pay 10k for a card that is 1k on a psa 10. Then you got these weirder people I call them Pokemon Kink collectors.... they look for the "red dot" crazy off center and willing to pay stupid prices... These guys are the true rich people... They just don't give a fuck and they pay top dollar to never sell..... And if you try to flex it people would just look at you crazy.
I recently started collecting error cards but some of the prices are insane! I also don’t see the appeal of sealed product errors either. Saw a charizard GX box listed for double the price because the card WAS BENT ERROR LOL
I mean 5k is just the listing price… any Joe Shmoe could post something at an obscene price, it’s only mindblowing if someone actually buys it (which nobody will buy this). Feel like you could’ve dug into the error market a bit more for this video, looking at some actual sold listings, unique cards etc. Like will you make a video if I post my error card at $32,000 for shits and gigs?
