The word ‘Yoga’ is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘Yuj’, meaning ‘to join’ or ‘to yoke’ or ‘to unite’. As per Yogic scriptures the practice of Yoga leads to the union of individual consciousness with that of the Universal Consciousness, indicating a perfect harmony between the mind and body, Man & Nature.
The Guru's Spiritual Yoga with Gurbani in Sikhism unites a person's soul with His Invisible Creator.
Both end with the death of the body but one keeps you in "the cycle of birth & death within the 8.4million species" whilst The Guru's frees you from it.
You reap what you sow & karmi aapo aapni...dictates where you exist !!!

You stated that in all the previous techniques of spirituality before Guru Nanak Dev ji, there was a reliance on having to do something (i.e. as long as one bathes in holy water, he/she will be ok), however, Jagatguru Ravidass Maharaj ji’s spiritual technique did not rely on ritualistic beliefs. Jagatguru Ravidass Maharaj ji “not only enlightened people about the futility of ritualistic worship and useless customs that had found entry into the prevailing religious values; but Guruji also showed the true and pious way of devout meditation of God”
“Guru Ravidass denounced ritualistic worshipping and instead preached ‘Naam’ in the simplest form and said Omni present God is supreme.”
One such example is included as part of Shabad 78 in Amritbani Satguru Ravidass Maharaj ji, page 114-115, Jagatguru Ravidass Maharaj ji says:
Kaha bhayo nache ar gaye kaha bhayo tap kinhe!
Kaha bhayo jo charan pakhare jau lo tatt nahin chinhen!!1!!
Nothing tangible can be achieved through external rituals.
Even if one dances, sings, worships or washes the feet of deities and goddesses, he will not benefit from these ceremonies until he comprehends divinity of God.
Kaha bhayo je moond mundayo bahu tirath brat kinhe!
Swami dass bhagt ar sevak kahu param tatt nahin
    chinhen!!2!!
Even if one gets his head shaved or one may bathe at all
places of pilgrimage and fast, he cannot realize God through these rituals. Even worship of the master by his servant or devotion to Guru by his disciple will be of little use until one really understands God.
Another example as part of Shabad 31, page 61-62:
Naam tero aarti majan Murare !!
Har ke naam bin jhoothe sagal pasare!!1!! Rahaao!!
O God! Thy meditation is the true worship and homage
to Thee and Thy worship is more than Thy ritual bathing. All other rituals, except Thy devoted worship are false, and useless.

I told her these days most Sikhs are concerned firstly with business and family. Spiritual battle is way on backburner.

I appreciate ur work bhaji, but please dont address a soul as an energy.. This is absurd in my opinion... Energy has nothing to do with ruh Or soul.... Energy may or may not be alive or have satya(livingness) but ruh is immortal, aliveand has indepth knowledge. ....... Ruh has power to go beyond time and space dimension but not sure about energy...

I think he just chooses energy as a dialectic to explain soul in a way that’s easier for some to understand. Everyone might not know what ruh means so I think he’s just trying to make it understandable for all, but if you find ruh is better then use that when he says energy
