Hi Julia, I can always remember your birthday because July 22nd is mine as well... 🙂 My wife and I took our family and grandkids to Fort Walton Florida for the week of the 22nd and we had a great time as always!! We flew American Airline from DFW as we always do and I thought it would have been really cool if you had been working our flight but I guess not....lol. Hope you had a Happy Birthday as well....be safe girl!

PHL is my airport, and earlier this month, I flew roundtrip AA PHL-PBI. Both flight crews were awesome and friendly. And then I somehow found your vlog and have been binge watching! Love learning about the ins and outs of the job, thanks for sharing!

I saw your Amsterdam vlog. Very nice edits you did with that video.I am from Amsterdam myself. Here is a to do list what you can do in Amsterdam and the rest of the Netherlands. But first let me say what a coincidence you going to Las Vegas, my sister flew to LA from Amsterdam and and exactly today she will be driving into Vegas. Now what you can do in Amsterdam is go to FEBO which is very popular here. FEBO has a vending wall with typical hot Dutch snacks. It is like a vending machine with little windows where you can put money in. Then you open the little window and take out a hot Dutch snack. This way you dont have to wait in line. Back in the 70 's 80's New York had these vending walls as well. Dutch snacks you can try are kroket, frikandel, mexicano, pikanto, kaassoufle , vlammetjes (flames in English) hamburger, chicken burger. Some people like to taste everything and will do a left-to' right which means eating every hot snack in the wall from left to right. One thing to remember you have to have Euro coins with you and put in the right amount of money because it is old technology of the 70's you dont get change back. You can Google FEBO snacks with Google Image search to see the snack wall or see Americans and English people going to FEBO on CZcams.. FEBO is very popular also for people after going to the club at night. Some other things you can try on a huge outdoor farmers market called Albert Cuyp market in Amsterdam are stroopwafels. These are huge cookies as big as your head which they make warm and fresh while you wait. Dutch people and tourists love them. If you like sushi you also might try raw Dutch herring at this same market which is also a custom here to eat. The herring is salted in salt baths and is fermented a bit so it is not really raw. You can also try smoked eal. Other things Amsterdam is famous for is apple pie and tompouce which is a pastry with pink glazing on top. Another thing to try on this farmers market is poffertjes. Poffertjes are mini Dutch pancakes with lots of butter and powdered sugar. Another thing to try is a pancake restaurant. Dutch people dont eat pancakes for breakfast they eat pancakes as full diner at night. Dutch pancakes in restaurants are huge they are the size of two full plates of food. They are also much thinner than American pancakes. We use pancakes like pizzas so you can put ham and cheese on them and many other savoury things. Sweet things on these huge pancakes are mostly eaten by children here. We even have pancake restaurants boats that tour over the canals and lakes at night. We had Americans here who tought they could eat 5 of these huge pancakes per person. They could barely eat two of these pancakes. In most cases creditcards are not used in many places and shops in The Netherlands as Dutch people dont like to go in debt. We mainly use debit cards and use tap to pay. Amsterdam is really a tourist trap. Other less expensive cities to visit with canals are Haarlem, Utrecht and Leiden. They are like Amsterdam but have much less tourists. From Amsterdam it takes only 20 minutes by train to get to these places as The Netherlands is very small. It takes only 3.5 hours to drive out of the country to another country so it is very short distances to travel. Albert Einstein liked to go to the city of Leiden and The Pilgrim fathers were from Leiden. Harlem in the US was named after the city of Haarlem as New York used to be called New Amsterdam. Utrecht is also called Small Amsterdam because it has the same canals , houses and it is less touristy. What many people dont know is in The Red Light District live families with small children. It is a normal neigbourhoud with bars and shops. These children know exactly what is going on there. During the day one can visit the Red Light district without problems even families with children go there but it is forbidden to make photos of the girls in the windows and make videos there. You can also go to Giethoorn which is the Venice of The Netherlands It is a village without roads and cars just boats. You can book a boat tour in Giethoorn and do a high tea in the restaurant. You can also go to Keukenhof that is the biggest flowergarden in the world. It is in a town called Lisse where I live. There is also castle Keukenhof you can view. There are many videos of Keukenhof flower garden on CZcams. Keukenhof is close by Amsterdam. After you visit Keukenhof you can go to the beach by bus which is only 5 miles away in a town called Noordwijk. They have nice beachclubs and restaurants on the beaches here. Because The Netherlands is such a small country you can get to every town and city by bus and train relatively quickly 30 minutes or so or less. P.s. Every Dutch person will tell you to go to The Efteling as almost every Dutch person went to The Efteling. The Efteling was built before Disney Parks existed. Some Americans and English people call Efteling the darker version of Disneyland because The Efteling doesn't sugarcoat fairytales like Disney does. The Efteling started out as fairytale forest with lots of life size depictions of fairytales. In this fairytale forest you can get lost for hours to be able to see it all. The fairytale forest became so popular they added more and more themepark rides and big rollercoasters. This themepark grew to the size of 100 football fields so it is bigger than Disneyland in the US and bigger than Disneyland Paris. The Efteling is not owned by a big company like Disney but owned by a foundation and is placed in a nature reserve. So the prices of tickets, hotels and food are much less than Disney prices. This year they built one of the most expensive haunted mansions in the world costing 35 million euros. Besides rollercoasters they have a lot of dark rides with fairies, goblins, Arabian night themes, animatronics, whales, a man with the longest neck in the world and a donkey that poops golden colored Efteling coins for kids to catch. They were the first themepark in the world to introduce talking trashcans in the form of a man's face that says thank you and sucks in the trash. Children love to put trash in these thrashbins as a game. They will look for trash on the ground to throw it in so the park is always clean. Winter Efteling is the most beautiful as it is themed in winter landscape. A lot of people say that the dark ride called Symbolica is the most beautiful with fairies, goblins and Pardoes. Pardoes is the park mascotte much like Mickey mouse is Disneys mascotte. Symbolica was also the most expensive dark ride to build. In the park is a huge lake where you can picnick on boats that drive themselves and they have the third biggest water show in the world There are many videos on CZcams by Americans and English people who went to Efteling if you want see what is like.
