Reality Scan and Metashape were the big hitters and I'm so happy to have access to both again! Reality Scan was genuinely better in a whole selection of use cases in my experimentation

The app description says no special hardware required. But the Play store does not allow me to download it saying, "This phone isn't compatible with this app". I'm using a Samsung Galaxy A23.

Nope. "Camera Error". I guess that "No Special Hardware Required" isn't true.

@@not-alot-of-options go into your camera, then settings then reset. try installing again.
Might be software related not hardware because I've been trying it on all of my phones and I have an a23, a Sony Xperia Z1 compact and a note9 all work fine. Make sure your phone is updated and if you have any issues you might have to get your phone looked up oand or submit a bug report. Could be that your phone has one very specific setting on that is causing the issue that has been overlooked by Devs that they can patch in an update

Scaniverse runs offline so when I go to sites with no internet I can locally create nerfs and generate 3D models using normal photogrammetry.

If u even want a cleaner shape and better topology, u can remesh then bake the original unto the new mesh
the quality of the scan from the android to the iphone is very different ,- , i wish i had one...
during spring cleaning I found an old iPhone, but it's an iPhone 4s, so it won't run the app... guess I can't win today lol
these are hardware limitations not on android but the manufacturers who stop putting lidar with android software.
What Iphone version did you shoot with? 15 pro max or 12 pro max or ????

excited, but the initial imports look like, well, ass. Can't wait to try it out and get frustrated enough cleaning the geometry up that I end up modeling the stuff manually after all

Gave it a try. Auto capture definitely leaves something to more to be desired.
Says my Nokia won't work with it.
