Corvette Z06's with tinted windows and blacked out features are just so freaking menacing. The sound, the look, the performance... One of the few cars that has all three. Such a versatile platform too. The interior still lags behind like any corvette before the C8, but I'd be fine with it if I could own one.
I completely agree with the old school winning comments thats what I grew up racing and working on, simpler times! Now for the downer, it would take one hell of an old built car to compete with a newer performance car. I ran Porsches for awhile and although not dynamite fast they are extremely quick and very capable. I switched over to Corvette when the C-6 came out and it was a Z06 with the 427. I changed to an aftermarket cold air kit and tuning and that car was extremely capable and very fast not as quick as the Porsche though. My car now is a C7 Z06 and with a different computer program, bigger injectors and a cold air kit its a car I never really get after it hard without the traction control ON, my C6 would break the tires loose at almost 100 mph and my C7 makes 200 more HP, I know I am not a good enough driver to keep that in shape. It would be extremely hard to find an old built car that can run a 10 sec. quarter then pull really hard all the way to over 200 mph and then drive it into town for groceries. Its evolution of cars and what they can do NOW. I still very much like the old ones also just not to go fast in.
i mean the electric cars are going to get better every generation and plus it will help with less use of fossil fuels and less air pollution ensuring our future generation will also have a chance to live a healthy life on this planet ..
The good old days are right now. If you woulda told me in 1975 that within 40 years there would be 600+hp cars that ran in the 10 second bracket, but still were smog legal AND would get 20+mpg, I'd call the mental hospital and have you admitted!! That said, even if you have the technical know how to fix newer cars, they're a BITCH to work on. Give me an older car, with modern power!!!
