- In this video, I'm taking a look at the new Fitbit Charge 6 - the new health and fitness tracker from Fitbit! i have some initial impressions to share.

I bought a Fitbit Charge 5 a few years ago and used it for about 2 years. I found it quite useful until I went back to China this year and bought a Huawei Band 8. It has a flashlight feature, phone-finding function, can show the weather forecast for the next 10 days, and has all the features of the Fitbit Charge. It even allows for CZcams music control and has at least a 10-day battery life, all for just over $30. So now I understand why the U.S. wants to ban Huawei.
Huawei does have some pretty great value. I didn't have the best time with my Band 8
I seen an article stating that they were selling your personal information and spying on you without your consent. For what reason I don’t really know
Yeah... I don't know what to believe with Huawei. On one hand they are great value, but in the other they were partially owned by the Chinese government
Bro, I agree with you but don't take it too seriously. You're seeing this information because you live in the Western world. If you were living in China, you'd be seeing news about iPhones leaking user information and being banned from use by the Chinese government. Isn't that interesting?@@Criticalmaze

I had a Fitbit charge 5 for about a week. From what I experienced the GPS is horrible. I did a walk one day then the next day I did another walk but I was kind of feeling sick so I cut my walk about half of the walk from the day before and it had a longer total distance from my shorter walk. I returned it the next day and bought a Garmin Venu SQ 2.
There seemed to be problems if the band was on to tight for the GPS
I disable my gps for battery’s sake.
it is horrible, it takes sometimes 5 mins to connect to the built in GPS, it looses connection mid run in perfect weather. With it on you can Fly over lakes, through buildings that's if it connects at all. it's inaccurate. the worst part is contacting customer support where they tell you they don't class built in GPS accuracy or connection issues ground for a exchange or a refund which was why i bought the 5. they do everything in there power to help you, everything except the thing you want, in fact they go out of their way to mundanely belittle you with fixes like restart it or make sure its at 90% charge, it makes no difference and i am not alone. Horrible company, rip off products that don't work as stated on the box.
The monthly subscription is the reason i switched over to Garmin initially. I doubt i will go back to fitbit in the foreseeable future.
I really hope they hear feedback like this. I can understand putting workouts and meal prep in the premium teir but to put things like readiness score and better sleep coaching is just frustrating

does it have pickleball as a preset workout?
After using Apple watch Ultra and Pixel Watch 2, going to a fitbit is likengoing back to the stone age as far as using the watch screen. I almost returned it but i wanted to wear a proper analog watch and did not want to wear two proper sized watches. So i use this as a wristband tracker only with the screen always off and almost never look at it. I only use the app to look at the fitness tracking. I feel for this idea it works well. I would buy it if it didnt have a screen at all.

Currently have the Charge 5. No problems with it but I'm tempted with the Apple Watch 9. Can't see a huge difference between the Charge 6 and 5.

I was a former fitbit user, after switching to Garmin gard to go back.
No subscription, music controls, battery life, better training metrics during and After workouts is why garmin is better imo

@@FitnessWithFrost I was debating between it and The Venu 2 plus. I got the Venu 2 Plus then returned it and got the forerunner. Has 13 days of battery life and one of the best features of the Garmin watches is you can create custom shortcuts with the buttons. Having that made me prefer it to the Venu 2 plus, as well as the bigger screen size. I compared these 2 because they were both at the same price. The Venu 3 has just come out now which looks interesting as well at 450 dollars
With all the new fancy apps I'm still waiting when Fitbit will have a FLASHLIGHT app! Very useful. Lots of times I dont have my phone with me looking for stuff, plugging cords to socket and wished my band has flashlgiht. I mean common even all budget fitness bands have it.
Also what keeps me from upgrading from Charge 4 is the lack of altimeter. As someone who takes stairs everyday its kinds important for me.
I'm not entirely sure why they took out the altimeter. But as someone who goes up and down stairs a lot as well. You really don't miss it when it's gone
Many of us need a new device anyway because after the update lots of users had their charge 5 die! So not kewl! They offered me a free band though lol
Deciding if I want the 5 again or 6. I am a fan because it all connects to my aria scale.

Hi there,basically seems a charge 5 with some software tweaks (gmap,ytmusic).Still lacks altimeter,seems that still lacks meteo app and agenda app like the charge 5 and also relax app🤷🏻♂️.Would it be nice if at least the add The Ceda sensor like the sense 2 but is not going to happen😢
Still a decent amount of functionality. I'm very curious how much better the heart rate tracking will be

Charge 5 was almost perfect, but it left rashes on people wrist, does this one do the same?
I've only had it for a day so far, but no issues. I'll definitely try to comment on that in my full review

I just bought an by dapple Watch 9 to replace my FitBit HR. I just find the new dashboard so awful and the customer service is so appallingly poor! I tried Premium but it’s ridiculously expensive for nothing. Very happy with my Apple Watch. More expensive maybe, but so many more options. Amazing.

Step counter is great and you will receive all the notifications on your watch. Hopefully that is helpful
Can I answer phone call with charge 6 connected with Bluetooth earphone (and of course the phone itself)?
I believe you can only decline the call. But I'm not sure as I haven't gotten my hands on it yet
Not a chance I would entertain another Fitbit device after they bricked my charge 5. I really liked the watch and daylight visibility but Fitbit offered 35% off a new watch as long as I purchased within 30 days which was before the release of the charge 6. No Thanks!

Can it work as a standalone without connecting it to my smartphone or no?
It can do that with fitness, but not with taking any notifications from your phone. Hopefully that was helpful

No wonder the app got a new look couple of days ago. Even though they’ve moving onto the google ecosystem soon enough
A lot of this stuff has been there for years but it does make sense that the charge 6 just came out
Quick question, does fitbit have Bluetooth disconnected notification? I have a samsung galaxy, it vibrates whenever it loses connection with, only side is i have to charge everyday, the reason why I am looking into fitbit. Anybody knows?

Fitbit has a very bad rep for HR tracking. Reviews have trashed Charge 5 . I had one and had to take it back
For bands around is price range it's pretty competitive, but not as good as more expensive bands
The new features are very niche and make no sense with the much better display of a phone. for Google maps, If you're driving, you'd have your phone in a dock anyway to see the map.. I dunno why you said it's easier on watch as that's worse. I'd much rather have new types sensors.
Just checked Amazon, sells for $ 159.00 . Downer is you need a IOS 15. I have
apple IOS 13. From Amazon's thumbnail it looks like it might have a home button.
Charge 5 was the only Fitbit I didn't like , hope 6 doesn't have all the bugs 5 had.

That's a great catch because I didn't see it needed iOS 13 or higher. I do doubt there will be a home button tho because it looks to have the same UI as the 5

There is no altimeter but you can shower with it on

I have charge 5 and they sent a update 188.58 now its not holding the battery charger max 3 or 5 hour still they are not fixing so they can do with charge 6 too i am staying away from fitbit now

"I'm not a fan of monthly premium".... But you're wearing a Whoop tracker which is all based around a subscription model exclusively?
So the Whoop is all about the subscription and they don't hide behind it. It is their model. Fitbit in the other hand sells your a device and puts some of its functionality behind a pay wall. When you look at other manufacturers, Garmin, Samsung, Apple, they don't do this.
The Whoop is a different device entirely that's why I also have a smart watch on my wrists

They did this last year with preorders as well. I do agree that it's a tad weird
Fitbit products are not Google products at all. I have a Charge 5 and Google Wallet is not YET implemented, hence NFC is for nothing... (just to mention an example). I think FitBit products don't worth the extra price you pay for them...
They do come at a premium sadly. Pretty disappointing to hear they still haven't gotten Google Pay working yet

Seriously? They are going to maintain the fitbit os and their pixel watch. I would get it, if the pixel watch was feature and the fitbit tracking only. So why are they making duplicate apps for it? This just increases the Fitbits cost. For 160$ + Fitbit membership this seems like a joke, when you can get a much better smartwatch with free health tracking.
I understand the outrage. It's not entirely behind a pay wall and you get around 80% of all the functionality. But I do not think that you should pay for that other 20%. Garmin, Samsung, and Apple do not do this.
The only stats behind the pay wall now are sleeping heart rate and readiness score, everything else can be accessed for free to the point premium isn't necessary at all.
In Fitbit charge 5, i use only active zone minutes, heart rate, how much time I slept, of course, to see the times, and timers, for cooking, the rest is not really needed.
In new was expecting spotify handles to use while working out, but not the priority i guess for fitbit developers. So, I am skipping on this version.
Yeah I haven't heard anything about Spotify connections yet sadly. Sounds like you are enjoying the 5 though
The battery life is absolutely rubbish if you walk/hike it won't last one day if you walk more than 17 miles. will last longer if you don't move around mutch

@@FitnessWithFrost it started before it got worse i had to keep resetting it through out my exercise I took out an instant replacement insurance so i took it back i didn’t want another charge 5 so they replaced it with a versa 3 which has been great i also have an Apple Watch I have only had for about 4 weeks the heart rate monitor on that is absolutely diabolical it just keeps greying out never use it complete waste of money will be taking that back soon 🥴

I see your point, but pronunciation is also a regional thing as well. Not everyone pronounces words the same way. I can concede that my pronunciation not being accurate, but if that bothers you I think that is more on you than me
well if this acts like fitbit 5 than is garbage, expensive and after 6months of free premium, cost you 10$ per month to use the watch at full potential in 2 years of use it will get more expensive as an apple watch, can't record oxygen level whenever you want, it does it only during sleep. bad EKG recording, doesn't recognize any workouts and it has only 5, walking, running, swiming, biking, weight lifting. but everything has to be started before it get recorded except steps. Doesn't hold charge if you have it always on screen even is dimed at minimum (max 2 days). so basically if you decide to buy this product you will have heart rate, steps , and time at a very expensive price. also not to forget to mention you don't get notify your subscription will be renewed automatically with no refund policy, even if you are not in the possession of their product anymore. at this price point if you have an Iphone you could go for a apple watch even older versions. I got it as a present and I'm trying to sell this garbage and now I'll go for a apple watch after trying my girlfriend device.
Fitbit new phone app is AWFUL. See their customer comments. Unless they change think twice before getting a fitbit.

Nope. Never again with fitbit. Moved over to the garmin fam and never looking back. Fitbit is a headache and its actually more $$$ because of the subscription fee

Yes! I don't understand why they took it away. My only reason I can think of is they needed to build it from the ground up on their new app. Hopefully it comes back
Useless watch In a country of 150 billion people (India) they sell the watch but do not have a single service center across the whole country. Shame on such products
