I've been going to Japan in June /July and it's the best time as there are not a lot of tourists around. And even if it's raining there I still have a great time visiting different cities and towns. All you need a umbrella from 7-11 or Don Quixote and your set. Even if there was a typhoon I'll still enjoy myself because it's Japan. 😊 Your doing great .

Wow! Sounds great 👍 The nearest Don quixote from my home is at Roppongi, it's full of tourists! I always try to get instant noodles there😄

I'm going to Japan next week for the rainy season! I teach, so this is the perfect time for me to go! This video was very reassuring. :) I'll just grab an umbrella, enjoy the gorgeous temples, and if the rain is too much, go shopping!

I would say that if you like gardens, flowers and easy scenic walks then yes !! The formal gardens are beautiful in the rain, the hydrangeas are in full and the walks will have far less people.
    Temples and shrines too!

I like Japan in the wet. As long as its not cold.

Thanks. Recently, it’s been disappointing to see such heavy rain, which lacks the charm of gentler showers.

I personally couldn't handle the couple rainy days we had in the fall when we traveled - it was difficult to navigate especially with a small child who I would have to carry while holding the umbrella so they didn't get their feet soaked (since we didn't pack any rainboots). We ended up canceling our outdoor plans those couple of days and stuck to catching up on laundry in our hotel, shopping, or going to the aquarium instead. But I appreciate knowing when the rainy season is from this video so I can try to avoid it!
How long does the rainy season usually last?

    • @liljapan
      @liljapan  Před měsícem +1

Actually it's difficult to enjoy the rainy travel with children, you were great! Usually the rainy season will end till early July in Tokyo, and soon become very hot.

Six weeks or more on average, but we can also get typhoons which will approach in August and September and when they keep rolling in it’s like a continuation of rainy season.
I would avoid June until the end of September.

I want to know what kind of shoes should I wear during the raining season? Since we are doing a lots of walking. I don't think raining boots is a good option.
    Thank you

"I don't think raining boots is a good option."
I think so too. My better choice is the low-top trecking shoes. My wife often use it when it rains. Enjoy your stay!

I wear Keen walking sandals. Yes they get wet and yes my feet get wet, but then they get dry and I often take them off to walk indoors anyway. I also bring socks with me

You can buy products to protect your shoes from getting wet. You spray it on your shoes prior to wearing them. And yes it works as I've done this with my shoes and my feet and socks were dry.

@@mfaqihuddin Good choices! If you have only 1 day in Kyoto, I recommend you to reserve a taxi for saving time. Maybe you know in Kyoto is hard to find the taxi, because of many tourists. Adding this, in case if it's raining, you need a taxi. Enjoy your stay!

You might be good. I just left Japan yesterday, and it was 85 degrees the entire trip (June 8-16) I was told by the locals that rainy season will start pretty late this year, so I believe you’re still good
