  • This sequence, depicting a run of an S200 Series 9 Light Rail Vehicle through the wash bay, is part of a longer video called: “BEHIND THE SCENES AT CALGARY TRANSIT”, taken during an Open House visit to the Calgary Transit Oliver Bowen Maintenance Facility, in northeast Calgary on October 13, 2018.
OBMF is named after the civil engineer who managed the design and construction of the first phase of the LRT line, from downtown to Anderson in the south, during the 1970s. The facility, located at 3910 - 54 Ave NE, near McKnight-Westwinds LRT station, is Calgary Transit’s largest and newest, dedicated exclusively heavy maintenance and servicing of its CTrain fleet.
About 300 people registered for a one-hour tour between 10 am and 3:30 pm in small groups of about 25. Various phases of maintenance and operation were explained.
The highlight of the visit for everyone, was a ride aboard an S200 “Masked Train”, first through the wash bay and then (out of Door 20), along yard track, to the other end of the facility and back to the starting point on the platform, marking the end of the visit.
Here, we just experience the wash bay from beginning to end, aboard an S200 “Mask Train” Light Rail Vehicle. About 20 people are on board and questions are being answered by Calgary Transit staff all through the run.
    Thanks a lot for Watching.
