In 1991, a sky west metroliner preparing to take off from Los Angeles, was crushed by UsAir 737. Attempting to land on the same runway. 34 people were killed.
Investigators retraced the flight path of the USair plane by using a helicopter and had another metroliner sit on the runway. What they found is that the lights on a metroliner were the same color as the lights on the runway. The USair crew could not differentiate airplane lights from runway lights, so they continued to land on the runway believing that it was clear but it was not until the nose touched down that they actually saw the other plane
Who could’ve ever known that history would repeat itself on this very day.

My dad is a skywest pilot and it is sad what happened
runway collisions where an aircraft is landing are rare.

Imagine how the 737 pilot felt after crushing the passengers in the skywest plane..
pilot isnt responsible air controlers are
The Pilot got Trapped inside the 737 and died, the only Cockpit crew member who survived was the Copilot
@Mathiairlinesoficial no, the pilot got Killed Instantly when the Plane hit an abandoned fire station, Crushing the section of the cockpit he was in.
Look like two plane fight when collides on LAX runway.
