On Rasputin: his healing powers were almost certainly hypnotism, research over the last few decades has shown that hypnotism can have an effect on hemophilia. The account of his dead comes from the book one of his killers wrote for financial reasons and is thus it is almost completely certain that they are unreliable.
There's also the simple fact that holding still and relaxing is better for recovery as well. Better than having a gaggle of doctors poking and prodding you.
Hahaha enjoy your comment about the reportage of Rasputin's death. This was an extraordinary time in Russia. Who of all the main characters could have forseen the road ahead, and what they should be gazing upon as they depart this world? I think that the Church community would have have been able to influence him to a very great extent ... an alternate history. My chief concern is the welfare of Rasputin and his need for a superior whom he obeys.
Marx and Lenin coined the term Useful Idiots, which has been scrubbed from "'Google"'. Stanley Payne, in "Civil War in Europe," makes the argument that the Russian Revolution succeeded where others didn’t because the peasantry really didn’t have a political education. Much like the French Revolution, the average peasent didn’t think of themselves as members of a French or Russian nation-state.
We forget how recent national identity is, certainly for some people. I read a book about the Russian revolution, there was a quote, dated about 1910, from some guy in a village "I never knew I was Polish until a man from the city told me"
@@alexhubble very true! Payne also makes the point that eastern European communism didn't take quite as hard because these states had political institutions going back as far as the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth. It's why the Finns were able to completely eradicate the Red elements in their midst
Capitalism can lead to monopolies, market, popular, and governmental forces can counter them. Under socialism, the government itself is the monopoly. Always accuse your enemy of what you are doing.
A fundamental misunderstanding I noticed here is that no Marxist ever claimed that communism can be achieved within a single territory. Of course the USSR didn’t wither away, it wasn’t supposed to. They expected the Spartakist uprising to succeed, and when it didn’t, they had to hold onto state power for an unknown amount of time.
Life is about scale. If something is unable to work at a small scale it’s foolish to assume at a large scale with huge room for corruption, incompetence, and outright foolishness things will work better. The bigger a system becomes…the more likely you have bad actors, incompetent leaders, or corrupt schemers. It’s not hard at all to recognize the USSR’s downfall was the absolute death knell for a Marxist-inspired-system.
“We can see that socialism is evil” Well that’s just like your opinion man “That’s why we can see in California…” ??? I screamed HUH at work because of this sentence. In what world would anyone consider Californian politics to be even remotely near socialism?
Actually yes Socialism is evil and well and present in the “ United States” you have a SOCIAL Security Number to be able to participate in the system you need a socialist system number. It is definitely heading to that direction because a Democracy is basically a welfare state.

Stalin was in no way pro-Jew. There were laws against pogroms in the Soviet Union, but those were put in place under Lenin. They were also implemented because violence against Jews was disruptive, nothing more - Lenin wanted to erode Judaism and every other organised religion. Stalin was an outright anti-semite. He congratulated Hitler on his racial policies, removed Jews from high ranking positions in the communist party, and put into place laws declaring that Jews were 'bourgeois' and 'rootless cosmopolitans', and they were purged - getting murdered or sent to gulags.
