I bought a wreck of a place 18 months ago. I paid cash for the property and got it at a good price. I had some cash to start renovations . The cash allocated to renovations did not cover the full list of things that needed doing. I did major jobs to make the place liveable and safe. I have continued to save every penny I can and am working through the list in order of priority. Cash allowing I hope to have the renovations completed by the end of 2024.
There is no rush, I bought my house 17 years ago for my son and I. I still have so much to do. It is not Instagram worthy but its home cosy, clean and ours. You will make it yours and there is no time limit. Costs, budget and time are all huge factors.. enjoy as a home is a marathon not a sprint. Exciting time for you x

I really needed to see this today. My husband and I split unexpectedly before Christmas and I was totally blindsided. We are now trying to sell our house and I may only be able to afford a small fixer-upper (I do appreciate that I’m lucky to be able to afford anything at all). I was terrified of this as I am the most impractical person I know with zero maintenance and DIY skills but you are giving me all the confidence and inspiration I need to pull up my big girl pants. Thank you for that, and good luck with the continuing renovations, can’t wait to see how you’re getting on.

The floors are gorgeous, I'd love to see them refinished and not covered up, could also see a runner up those stairs. It's gonna be gorgeous regardless as it'll be your home xx take care and remember to see past now and the struggle and look forward to the amazing amount of new memories you will make in your new sanctuary x

Yes you will feel overwhelmed but when its finished and freshly decorated it will look amazing! Take care, don't over do it and enjoy your new home. ☺🏠

Slow and steady wins the race. It will be well worth it in the end. I bought my house 18 years ago and lived in it for many years before doing anything. I saved and did one room at a time.
I hate doing prep work, and clearing up. We have not even started thinking about decorating here, we need to save some more first as once we start we will have to continue - every room needs doing too, but it is largely just decorating, nothing structural. I am looking forward to seeing your future progress; the only way is up now!

So howis it going? I watched this the first time just as tou put it up. We are just getting ready to do our floors this year, i hope. The unfinished wood doesnt age well... Ihad no wallpaper tocontend with tho.
