(S-7 Ep-21) DIY Garden Planter Fountain

My wife decided she wanted to have a Garden Planter Fountain last May (2023), and she purchased a large clay pot while we were visiting her dad in Pennsylvania. She ordered a pump online and then the project was assigned to me!
I’ve been very busy this past season and I was not able to jump on this project right away. I did start in on it a couple of months ago and filled the drainage hole in the bottom of the pot with thickened epoxy and fiberglass cloth. It wasn’t until this past week or so though, that I got busy with the project in earnest. As far as building the unit goes, I did finish construction such that the water in the fountain does pump but the project is not entirely finished. It’s good enough to call “done” for the purposes of the video, but I will have to adjust the flow rate of the pump for more flow output and the fountain will need a few more rocks for it to look right. You might say it needs just a little bit of love and fine tuning before it is really competed.
You’ll note I used my new toy (tube roller from Harbor Freight with flat rollers from Swag Off Road) to roll the flat bar used to make the outer frame ring. This is not necessary at all. You can simply bend flat bar around a plywood disk cut out from scrap material. You don’t have to weld it either. You can overlap the ends of the flat bar, drill through the overlapping ends and use a self-tapping screw or rivet. There are all kinds of ways to build such a fountain. It’s a fun project and quite easy if you feel up to it!

Fun project. Thanks! You've got too much rain and here it's too hot for me to go outside. Heat index has been hovering around 118°, was 122° earlier this week. Say it's going to be hotter next week. My dogs stay wet from constantly being hose down. Fun. Fun. Not. Stay dry! 😢
Oh no! That's way too hot for me, Marty! I think it's too hot when the temps get up to around 69 degrees! By the way, the rain continues almost every day here and in fact it's pouring down in buckets right this minute. Sheesh! 👍

I know your weather has been extremely wet this summer because I watch it. Seems like I get at least one weather warning a day for you. I intend to move to Washington county when the demons release me.😁 Planned on being there in time to plant rhubarb this past Spring. Sigh.
