The Gentle Annie road has a terrible reputation -- at least from the 50's, 60's & 70's. It was unsealed, very twisty, and had plenty of bad spots. I drove over it in in the summer of about 2005 from Hawkes Bay to Taihape. By then, the greater part of it was sealed and the rest was a fairly decent unsealed surface. I enjoyed the then very easy drive.
Great Job, loved the commentary and the places you go are so exciting, bring on more adventures, love to see them.
I rode it on my xj600 some years ago prior to sealing. It was in great condition
