This game was such a joy to play. The world building was great and the bosses all felt unique and challenging even in story mode. It was a fun journey and I’m already on NG+ plus lol. I will say, out of all the bosses, I think the one that left a profound impact on me was the one in the Orbital Elevator. After trudging up this place, seeing all of the corruption spreading and fighting that Japanese style boss, you’d think you are about to fight something rough, but the thing you fight isn’t much (aside from the challenge of it) but man when you get flung into space and you see just how fucking big this thing is. Literally the only time in recent games a monster has made me say “Holy Shit” in an actual horrified manner. That entire sequence was fantastic. But screw the damn hypertube. I always slam into everything lol. Overall 1000/10 would play again over and over. Also don’t @ me but Raven is hotter than EVE, k thx bye.
Oh no raven > Eve no contest. Tachy > Raven > Eve. But Tachy and Raven are neck and neck imo. They have the fave of a grown up women. Whereas Eve's face looks too young/barely 18. Glasses and haircuts ftw on Eve.
@@amwazdraws6890 I got the true ending because I’m that type of player that has so do all of the side quests. I only left one in Eidos 7 and that was because I legitimately forgot. I both agree and disagree with Charlie’s take on the story, I think the story is fine, but I do agree with the dialogue being a bit clunky. Maybe it sounds better in Korean, I’m not sure. I think the lore is fantastic though. I wanna get all of the information I can to try and put together what happened. I am also very curious as to what Raven must have gone through, her story might parallel EVE’s but it’s clear she went in a different direction. If there’s a sequel, EVE is gonna tear Mother Sphere a new one and I am all for it. Will say, what Charlie said about it being generic is kinda true. Reminds me a lot of Terminator, but it’s fine lol. Overall, a solid game.
You should not base your decisions about buying a game on Charlie's opinion, because Charlie is one of the three worst game reviewers/streamers I have ever seen. His opinion on games is at best worthless and at worst damaging to your enjoyment of games. Asmongold is another of these three horrible gaming streamers. Don't waste your time watching them or relying on their opinion.
I especially enjoy the part where the developer in an interview said that they prioritized slower animation over input latency because they enjoy how the animations look.
The story and lore are one of the strongest aspects of the game. Eve changes so much from the beginning to the end, I love her interactions with people and the way her perspective changes throughout the game. You learn about the world the same as Eve, and if you just blindly follow your mission of course you're going to think the story is nonsensical and the writing is bad. Otherwise you can learn about the lives of the people and the way people have been affected by the war, the effects Mother Sphere had on people, and the way everyone is living. There's so much lore and story if you pay attention and explore the world, if you just learn the hard hitting truths you won't feel their weight without all the other context.
Nah homie, did all the side quests and read all but like the 10 notes in the whole game that I missed and got the ending that required Lily to like you or whatever and I couldn't understand how the game expected me to care about any of the characters. The lore is neat, even if it's a bit unoriginal, but the actual story of the game was by far the weakest aspect. You dont interact enough with any of the characters enough to care about them but the game acts like you do. Enya is the only one I'd say gets enough screen time. D1g2r gets a pass tho. He cool.
charlie is the king of clickbait, the title as it is now is provocative and leaves a question in some viewers' minds (what game is he saying the most controversial?)
its crazy how people say this game is overtly sexual when it just isn't. if you want a game with overly sexual characters, bayonetta is literally right there
I’d actually say the story is better than what you give it credit for, play through the side missions and read the log entries. The log entries and side quests literally explain everything. They kinda made it so the story can be plowed through for NG+ players, while it wasn’t the smartest decision it gives completionists an easier time. Also doesn’t help that the english VA is pretty awful, if you get a chance to play it in korean the characters definitely feel more emotional and impactful.
I genuinely don't remember the last time I've played a game where pretty much the entire gameplay experience from beginning to end is pure enjoyment and fun. Even FF7 Rebirth, which is my current game of the year, had a lot of sludge here and there that just felt like padding to add more playtime. It reminds me of the best days back during the PS2 era, which is just a magical feeling. While the writing leaves a bit to be desired imo, I thought the world was also pretty interesting and the story was serviceable enough to get me invested.
Been hearing a lot of people talking about how it reminds them of ps2 era games and was wondering in what ways exactly? I have not played it myself so am curious to know but from what I have seen it seems pretty similar in gameplay, pacing and general structure to other modern action/adventure light RPGs. Pretty much each of its elements is something that I have seen in very recent games and that I can't really associate with any kind of ps2 era specific design philosophy...
Imma be 💯 with yall, Stellar Blade wouldn't be nearly as popular if it didn't have 90% of its budget targeted at making the MC a walking Skyrim Physics Mod
"Imma be with yall, Stellar Blade wouldn't be nearly as popular if it didn't have 90% of its budget targeted at making the MC a walking Skyrim Physics Mod" I only care about the game's popularity insofar as it is successful enough that Shift Up deemed it a success and decides to take that into consideration when making their next title. In fact, I was hoping this game would be less popular, would fly under the radar enough to escape the game journo gaze. But that didn't happen.
I assume that this is a joke, but god, how dumb must someone be to think that even 10% of dev time or money went to how a MC looks? As you said, it can be done by modders for free.
6:52 my first reaction was wanting to defend water levels because they offer a whole new dimension to exploration, like flying.... But then I realized none of my favorite games have water levels. There's actually nothing worth remembering.
His honest experience is really fair, but Subnautica exists. And if you want to argue about that, Genshin nailed the aspect of underwater exploration really well albeit region locked. And I'm sure that there are more good underwater levels out there
@@saif-gv6gl this is a really personal opinion but I really didn't like Fontaine's water levels tbh. All the characters you've collected and built teams around become completely worthless because you're forced to use movesets from aberrants. Though I'll admit Subnautica as an exception. Haven't played it, but it looked fun.
Big agree on the Platforming man^^ i really enjoyed the game overall, but there are some little mechanical issues (like Animation locking and no Sekiro-esque parrycancel for example) and ESPECIALLY the platforming. Like holy shit. No boss took me more than 4 tries or got me frustrated at all. But some of these whack ass jumping puzzles or ropeswing ones took me like 50 tries because of the trash floaty jumps and inconsistent Controls, like Eves insistance to jump into the opposite directionof what i input, arbitrarily losing momentum or literally falling through ropes or ledges without grabbing them for no reason. Very similar feel to the Fromsoft games. Very good when they are in their lane (combat) and very anyerusm inducing when not (platforming puzzles etc.)
100%, not to mention the poor ENG voice acting. EVE was the only VA that was overall great, but even she unfortunately got reduced to having a single battle line
Seriously!! People keep talking about all this controversy over the game but literally the only controversy I've seen are the people making claims that there is controversy. Also lol, that was not an alpha.
don't be obtuse, tons of journos are complaining about the protagonist being a conventionally sexy woman. some journos even go the extra mile by being hypocrites and praising Hades 2 for unveiling the same thing
Give this game a month or three and the exact same people will be singing EVEs praises as a girl boss character. They did the exact same thing with both Bayonetta and 2B. Hated by journalists at release then beloved. It's an endless cycle of "this is exploitative" to "she's an incredible and deep character" Mfs got 0 backbone at all.
I really don't understand how this game was so controversial when Gaming Companies have been doing the badass sexy female protagonist thing since the 2010s with Bayonetta and Lollipop Chainsaw. I bet you if Stellar Blade came out in the 2010s, no one would've batted an eye.

Also don’t @ me but Raven is hotter than EVE, k thx bye.
the last few bosses were really all top-tier. I liked Raven the most.
Oh no raven > Eve no contest.
Tachy > Raven > Eve.
But Tachy and Raven are neck and neck imo.
They have the fave of a grown up women. Whereas Eve's face looks too young/barely 18.
Glasses and haircuts ftw on Eve.
@@amwazdraws6890Raven Best boss fight. Though I haven't done the robot ending one.
Also, Adam is straight up Better Elden Beast.
@@poutineausyropderable7108 I still need to do Adam in NG+
"Charlie: I like Stellar Blade"
Purchased!
Hell yeah
hell yea
You should not base your decisions about buying a game on Charlie's opinion, because Charlie is one of the three worst game reviewers/streamers I have ever seen. His opinion on games is at best worthless and at worst damaging to your enjoyment of games. Asmongold is another of these three horrible gaming streamers. Don't waste your time watching them or relying on their opinion.
People actually think like this
Nice work bro
I especially enjoy the part where the developer in an interview said that they prioritized slower animation over input latency because they enjoy how the animations look.
I also like big jiggly physics
He cool.
You know a game is good when EVERYTHING jiggles.
Stellar blades design is beautiful
Why did the title change?
It previously was :
I realy like stellar blade
Is that really a question your asking?
charlie is the king of clickbait, the title as it is now is provocative and leaves a question in some viewers' minds (what game is he saying the most controversial?)
its crazy how people say this game is overtly sexual when it just isn't. if you want a game with overly sexual characters, bayonetta is literally right there
The soundtrack for Stellar Blade is crazy good
The dialogue in this game reminded me that people die when they're killed
Charlie is really hooked on this new "Lies Of Gooners" game
This youtube video did not disappoint and we look forward to the next one!
💀
Donuts are too sweet but brownies aren’t?!
The platforming mechanics feel like N64 era. I'm getting flashbacks of Dash Rendar repeatedly falling into an ice crevice

I played it and didn't enjoy it quite as much, but am glad you did.

Imma be 💯 with yall, Stellar Blade wouldn't be nearly as popular if it didn't have 90% of its budget targeted at making the MC a walking Skyrim Physics Mod
Yep. They were efficient with the marketting.
I was waiting for a Deflect games with combos for so long now that buying it was a certainty.
Sure, but like Charlie said multiple times, the game would still be really good, just less popular.
You dont have to be “100” with us, brother we fucking know lmao
"Imma be with yall, Stellar Blade wouldn't be nearly as popular if it didn't have 90% of its budget targeted at making the MC a walking Skyrim Physics Mod"
I only care about the game's popularity insofar as it is successful enough that Shift Up deemed it a success and decides to take that into consideration when making their next title.

By the end of the game I was pretty ready to be done. The poor platforming and traversal got super grating and Eve only has ONE voice line in combat
